The all-new 2024 Buick Envista was officially announced in Mexico as the next member to expand the Tri-Shield brand’s crossover portfolio this year in North America, following its world debut on August 26th at the 2022 Chengdu Motor Show in China. In fact, the new 2024 Envista seeks to redefine the premium entry-level utility segment with a bold design proposition, a compact size, and high fuel efficiency at an affordable price.
“Buick helped define the small SUV segment in 2012, and we’ve continued to make our offerings even more competitive since. The all-new Envista is going to shake up that segment once again,” said Global Vice President of Buick and GMC, Duncan Aldred. “When you consider all the Envista has to offer, from its stunning design, standard technology and premium affordability, it’s going to be hard to find a better package in that area of the market,” he added.
In particular, the 2024 Buick Envista is the first all-new vehicle to adopt Buick’s new global Pure Design language and also GM’s first crossover coupe. The automaker says the 2024 Envista combines the space and practicality of a utility vehicle with sporty proportions typically found in a sedan, aiming to appeal to customers migrating from sedans, young professionals and small families.
Unlike the Chinese market that offers the second-generation Buick Encore, the all-new 2024 Buick Envista will position itself below the Buick Encore GX as Buick’s entry-level crossover in all three North American countries. In this region, it will equip the turbocharged 1.2L I3 LIH engine with 136 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque, matched to a six-speed automatic transmission.
The all-new 2024 Buick Envista will officially launch in Mexico during the second half of the year, a few months after its arrival in the United States and Canada this summer. All the details about the versions, specific equipment and prices of the 2024 Envista for the Mexican market will be revealed closer to its launch in the country. Units of the Envista for the North American market will be manufactured at the GM Bupyeong plant in South Korea.
