2024 Honda Prologue Caught Testing Undisguised

GM Authority has been covering the Ultium-based 2024 Honda Prologue for some time now, and we’ve even seen it testing out in the wild a few times. Today, our spy photographers captured a first look at an undisguised Honda Prologue undergoing validation testing.
Captured near the GM Milford Proving Ground in Michigan, this production-spec Prologue is painted in black and features what appears to be the production lighting arrangement. Notably, the front and rear badges are covered in black tape.
For those who may be unaware, the Honda Prologue is heavily based on the upcoming 2024 Chevy Blazer EV. In fact, after a peek at the interior layout of the Prologue, this Ultium-based electric crossover is likely to be more of a badge-engineered vehicle than a fully-fledged Honda design that shares GM’s electric vehicle architecture.
Judging from the shared interior design, the Prologue will also feature similar exterior dimensions to the Blazer EV, albeit with adjustments made to follow Honda’s corporate design language.
As far as drivetrain configurations, the Prologue is likely to feature either a FWD or AWD layout. Meanwhile, the Chevy Blazer EV will be offered in FWD, RWD and AWD configurations.
Back in April, GM announced an investment of over $1 billion USD in the GM Ramos Arizpe plant in Mexico to re-tool the facility for electric vehicle production, which includes the likes of the Blazer EV. As such, production of the Honda Prologue is anticipated to take place at the same plant, while the Honda EV is expected to launch sometime in the 2024 calendar year.
Under the skin, the Prologue shares its structure with the Blazer EV, and will ride on the GM BEV3 platform. Motivation is derived from GM Ultium batteries and GM Ultium Drive motors.

The best looking Ultium vehicle yet!
Definitely can tell its based of the Chevy, but it looks cleaner somehow.
If you can’t beat them, then let them make it for you! Honda will make a small profit, but GM will get a bigger profit from each Prologue sold anywhere, even in Japan.
This isn’t going to Japan. Prologue is a North American only vehicle.
Design is like GM only cleaner. It’s time for GM & Honda to merge. GM is weak in Japan and Honda is stronger in the coastal US population centers. Meanwhile, GM excels with Trucks, large SUVs, the Heartland & in China. These two companies complement one another
How do you figure? GM will probably sell a little above cost. This deal helps GM increase scale keeping factories ar capacity and getting lower prices from venders.
Years ago Pontiac sold Vibe & both Toyota and GM earned a profit.
Wonder if they’ll support CarPlay?
They will
obviously
Honda in the front. GM in the back. There’s no mistaking that roofline. Classic GM.
Will Honda buyers know it’s a GM vehicle?
I own 3 honda vehicles. The fact that GM is building my next honda ride is very disappointing.
It’s engineered better than your Honda’s, though I wouldn’t buy any GM vehicle if it were assembled in MX.
I wouldn’t dismiss anything the Japanese engineers are designing, and every trade has good engineers. Let’s be honest, it’s the bean counters at GM or Ford who destroy any design and make them cheaper and flimsy.
GM and Honda have a long history of collaboration. They’ve been working on fuel cell tech for 10 years and batteries beginning in 2018. This is a deep relationship so get used to it.
You can definitely see Blazer in the beltline/roof area, but at least it seems there’s enough Honda DNA design wise that you can see Honda.
Not the first GM/Honda partnership either nor the first time Honda had a vehicle made by another manufacturer for them. First gen Saturn Vue had the optional 3.5 DOHC Honda V6 in them. Also, the first and second gen Honda Passport was a literal rebadge of the Isuzu Rodeo.
Great to see two large OEM’s work together in this new area of building automobiles. All these companies duplicating the same engineering just don’t makes sense.
The front end is how I would imagine a new Olds Bravada.
After you say it, now I can see it, and I realize why I do not like the front.
Looks like a more well-proportioned Blazer EV. Honda has a similar vehicle. Maybe Passport?
