The 2024 GMC Hummer EV SUV is equipped with GM’s latest all-electric vehicle technology, offering impressive performance and off-road capability, all wrapped up in a boxy and upright utility vehicle body style. Now, Natural Resources Canada has released energy consumption and range estimates for the 2024 GMC Hummer EV3X and Edition 1.
Natural Resources Canada serves as the governmental department responsible for natural resources, energy, minerals and metals, forests, and mapping in Canada. The department’s energy consumption and range estimates for the 2024 GMC Hummer EV3X and Edition 1 will likely be similar, if not identical, to forthcoming figures from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
The Natural Resources Canada numbers include energy consumption figures of 35.8 kWh per 100 km in the city, 43.8 kWh per 100 km on the highway, and 39.4 kWh per 100 km combined, as well as a range-per-charge estimate of 505 km. Check out the table below for more information, including U.S. conversion figures. As stated above, the EPA has yet to provide its own figures, but they are expected to be similar (if not identical) to the Natural Resources Canada figures:
Metric | U.S. Conversion | |
---|---|---|
City Energy Consumption | 35.8 kWh/100 km | 57.6 kWh/100 mi |
Highway Energy Consumption | 43.8 kWh/100 km | 70.5 kWh/100 mi |
Combined Energy Consumption | 39.4 kWh/100 km | 63.4 kWh/100 mi |
City Fuel Consumption Equivalent | 4.0 Le/100 km | 59 MPGe |
Highway Fuel Consumption Equivalent | 4.9 Le/100 km | 48 MPGe |
Combined Fuel Consumption Equivalent | 4.4 Le/100 km | 53 MPGe |
Range | 505 km | 314 mi |
To note, these numbers apply to both the 2024 GMC Hummer EV SUV EV3X and Edition 1 models, as the Edition 1 is essentially an option package for the EV3X. Both models incorporate a three-motor powertrain, whereas elsewhere in the trim level cadence, the EV2 and EV2X levels are equipped with two-motor powertrains. A 20-module battery pack of unspecified capacity is included across all trim levels.
As a reminder, output figures for the 2024 GMC Hummer EV SUV range between 625 horsepower and 830 horsepower, depending on the trim level selected. Under the body panels, the GMC Hummer EV rides on the GM BT1 platform. Production takes place exclusively at the GM Factory Zero plant in Michigan.

Wow, as an owner of 3 different EV’s, that kWh usage amount sucks. I guess if you could afford to spend $100,000 on a Hummer you could afford to drag along a trailer with a generator to charge it if you are camping way out in the sticks someplace.
Given the usage and range, that is roughly 180kw battery pack.
That’s because gas trucks are more efficient.
