The 2024 Cadillac XT5 arrives as the eighth model year for the current first generation of the luxury crossover in the U.S., with only a handful of changes from the 2023 Cadillac XT5. Now, GM Authority has learned the XT5 will lose three paint colors after the 2023 model year.
Sources familiar with the matter have told GM Authority that Latte Metallic (color code G5D), Rosewood Metallic (GCK), and Wilder Metallic (GED) will not be available for the 2024 Cadillac XT5. Two new paint colors will replace the three unavailable hues.
All three of these colors are also already built out for the 2023 model year, making their absence from the 2024 model’s palette unsurprising. Latte Metallic was built out after the week of March 6th, 2023, with availability ending on the weeks of March 13th for Rosewood Metallic and March 20th for Wilder Metallic. Latte Metallic and Rosewood Metallic were introduced for the 2022 model year, while Wilder Metallic was introduced on the 2021 XT5.
Previously, the three colors were available on all 2023 Cadillac XT5 trim levels, including Luxury, Premium Luxury, and Sport, for an extra charge of $625. They could be combined with all six interior colorways:
- Cirrus with Dark Titanium accents
- Cirrus with Jet Black accents
- Jet Black
- Kona Brown Sauvage with Jet Black accents
- Maple Sugar with Jet Black accents
- Sedona Sauvage with Jet Black accents
It’s worth noting that these colors will be replaced by Emerald Lake Metallic (G6I) and Midnight Sky Metallic (GXF) for the 2024 model year.
GM plans to offer the 2024 Cadillac XT5 in North America, as noted, as a continuation of the current generation. Meanwhile, the nameplate’s redesigned second generation will be available exclusively in China, with its debut likely to arrive during the 2024 calendar year.
GM President Mark Reuss remarked on how the “XT5 is still a very high-volume segment in China, and we’re going to do that with a new design language interpretation, both inside and out.”
Start of regular production (SORP) of the 2024 Cadillac XT5 for the North American market is currently scheduled for June 2023.
As a reminder, the XT5 is currently available in the U.S. with two powerplant options, including the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY gasoline engine rated at 235 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, and the naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 LGX gasoline engine developing 310 horsepower and 271 pound-feet of torque. Both engines connect to the GM nine-speed automatic transmission, while drivetrain options include either FWD or AWD.
Under the body panels, the XT5 rides on the GM C1 platform, while production takes place at the GM Spring Hill plant in Tennessee.

Losing 3 paint colors. ! Does it really matter ,this country is losing the WHOLE VEHICLE !
We can only assume those colors are being dropped because they aren’t popular in China.
every time GM does something right some Moron will screw it up . Keep emphases on ev,s and putting Cadillac in communist china will be its demise. Hey , up in your ivory tower when will you start listening to the customers wants instead of telling them what we have to buy …
As a long-time Cadillac Customer, I have had numerous XT5s and love them. Cadillac has lost a loyal customer forever with the discontinuation of the XT5 here in the USA. The XT4 is too small and the XT6 too big for my needs. And their EVs are priced far too high for 99.9% of the Cadillac customer base.
There are so many XT5s on the road because Cadillac customers love them.
GM decision makers have their head tucked way up where the sun does not shine. It will be their demise.
Well said,I have been a customer since 1979. I have driven EVERY model . The last ones have been the SRX’s and the XT5’s . In regards of what you said about the EV’s price, that is true but I also think the majority of drivers just DON’T want to put up with all the variables in driving an EV.
I had a 2015 SRX with Tan/Brown interior. Anyone I had in the SUV couldn’t believe the quality looking materials and colors. ITs a shame the SRX was discontinued and now the XT5. What a big mistake !
It seems like gm always quits making the most popular models. Equinox now XT5 WTH.
How about a couple of funky colors for the XT5 like the XT4’s copper color White Black Grey and Silver just does not cut it anymore spice it up
As usual, GM and Cadillac have their heads up their butts! I am sick and tired of them kissing Chinese butt while they effectively give us the middle finger. I have owned 23 new Cadillacs, but I will never again buy a one until they start listening to the wants of 5he AMERICAN customer and tell the Chinese what they can do with it. Thanks for nothing, Cadillac.
A lot of Cadillac drivers are saying the same, including me. Customer since 1979.
