2024 Buick Encore GX ST In Moonstone Gray Metallic: Live Photo Gallery

Officially unveiled just a few months ago, the refreshed 2024 Buick Encore GX features updates and changes to its exterior, trim lineup, powertrain and on-board technologies. Today, Our spy photographers recently captured a 2024 Encore GX coated in a gray paint color, and now, we’re taking a closer look in the following GM Authority Live Photo Gallery.

This particular 2024 Encore GX is outfitted in the Sport Touring (ST) trim level, and painted in the Moonstone Gray Metallic color (color code GZB). The Encore GX ST features a unique grille and front fascia, gloss black rear bumper accents, exclusive wheels, flat-bottom steering wheel, and ST-embroidered seat headrests.

Up front, we can clearly see the revised front fascia, which prominently features the all-new Buick logo front-and-center. Taking styling cues from the Buick Wildcat concept, as well as the upcoming fully electric Buick Electra E5 crossover, the new front end styling is sharper than the pre-refreshed model.

Moving around to the side, the exclusive 18-inch Gloss Black aluminum wheels (RPO code REQ) can easily be spotted. In addition, this Encore GX sports body-colored door handles and mirror caps. Out back, few details have been updated for the refreshed model. However, the revised Buick Tri-Shield logo is mounted on the center of the rear liftgate.

Although it can’t be seen in these photos, the interior of the 2024 Encore GX has undergone a complete overhaul. The Buick Virtual Cockpit System is standard across the entire trim level lineup, with a total screen area of 19 inches. Some tech highlights include Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while wireless phone charging is available.

On the safety side, the revised Encore GX features a suite of new features, including Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, IntelliBeam auto high-beams, Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert, and Adaptive Cruise Control.

Under the hood, powertrain revisions are limited to a new turbocharger and engine mounts. Besides those minor details, specifications largely carry over from the 2023 model. These include the turbocharged 1.2L I3 LIH gasoline engine, rated at 137 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque, and the available turbocharged 1.3L I3 L3T gasoline engine, rated at 155 horsepower and 174 pound-feet of torque.

A front-wheel drivetrain is standard and pairs with a continuously variable automatic transmission, while AWD is optional and pairs with the GM nine-speed automatic.

As for structure, the 2024 Encore GX rides on the GM VSS-F vehicle set. Production began last month at the GM Bupyeong plant in South Korea.

  1. I like this gray color, it has a depth and a dimension to it. The old Encore and Trax rocked the “potato” look while being ideal in usefulness in a lot of ways (hip point for easy entry/exit, good visibility, easy to maneuver and park). Now that we’ve seen the Envista, the Encore GX has become the new potato, where it wasn’t before. I don’t mind the new front end, I think I’ll like it even more in person, but the Envista just seems better proportioned, at least in photos.

These smaller Buicks have had a certain luxury/sport charm about them, starting with the 1961 Special and up through the J-body Skyhawks and later Verano. with the advent of CUVs as a preferred bodystyle, Buick has kept with that tradition, imo.

  2. I prefer the deep red with silver wheels!

  3. The inspiration for design can come from different sources, my Cub Cadet tractor must of been the inspiration for the Silverado’s front end, the design for this Buick is more like my lawnmower.

  4. Looks like someone decided that the Ford Escape was a good looking POS and decided to copy it.

Fugly is all I can say.

  5. How boring, they just put the Chevy Bolt front end on a Buick. At least the last model resembled a Buick, this on just looks generic.
