After introducing the 2023 Chevy Seeker Redline Edition late last year, General Motors announced that the new version of Chevrolet‘s crossover is now on sale in China.
The automaker’s SAIC-GM joint venture in China has just officially launched the all-new 2023 Chevy Seeker Redline Edition, the first special version of the next-generation compact crossover. It arrives with a highly distinctive design to satisfy customer demand for more distinctive models in the Asian country. As such, the Redline trim expands the Seeker lineup that already featured base and RS trims.
In contrast to other custom Chevy models available in China, the 2023 Chevy Seeker Redline Edition positions itself as a mid-grade variant in the crossover lineup, sitting below the RS trim level – which will remain the range-topping trim. In fact, the Seeker Redline Edition is offered in two versions called Redline and Redline Plus, with the aim of being more accessible to a greater number of customers.
Aside from the usual blacked-out design elements and red accents on multiple parts of the exterior, the new 2023 Chevy Seeker Redline Edition packs an even more distinctive look from other versions, as it includes a matte paint treatment along with racing stripes on the roof and tailgate for the first time. In addition, it has distinctive decals and a two-tone interior with exclusive details such as various elements lined with suede fabric.
Mechanically, the 2023 Seeker Redline Edition maintains the same powertrain as the other trim levels comprised of a turbocharged 1.5L engine generating 135 kW or 181 horsepower and 250 Nm or 184 pound-feet of torque, matched exclusively to a continuously variable automatic transmission. According to SAIC-GM, this powertrain combines outstanding output along with class-leading fuel consumption.
The new 2023 Chevy Seeker Redline Edition is now available for sale throughout the official Chevrolet dealer network in China, with an exhaustive list of technology and safety features as well as a standard dashboard panel integrating two 10.25-inch displays. Here are the prices of the Seeker Redline Edition’s two variants in the Chinese market:
- Seeker Redline: 141,900 yuan (about $20,620 USD at the current exchange rate)
- Seeker Redline Plus: 161,900 yuan ($23,530 USD)

China gets bit cooler car … it was made in Korea …. So of course they get the better looking model :/
So china is now getting the better version and engine? GM makes me sad. The 1.5 should be the base engine in the Buick.
