  3. For me, the pinnacle of Camaro design. If there is another Camaro in the future, Chevrolet could use this 2nd generation to start from.

    1. I totally agree with you. It detoured Camaro away from the pony cars toward a classier place with a touch of European flair. Feline lines, I’ll say.

And then 5 mile an hour bumpers became mandatory, and the graceful lines of both the Camaro and Pontiac’s Firebird were compromised.

    2. This generation should have been retro-ed, in the first place, IMO. I’ve always thought that this gen was the best looking, for Firebird too. And with present engineering capabilities, those new safety regulations(bumpers) could be designed into this shape.

    3. This is the drawing I’ve been waiting for. Owned this exact same car back in 70 except mine had a black interior and console. Built it with 4.88s, headers, cam, etc, with a 8500 rpm redline. Beautiful car and memories… Wished the gen 6 would have looked like this…

  7. Beautiful car. My parents bought me a new 1971 RS/Z28 for my 16th birthday. Burnt Orange with black stripes and interior. I still have it. I’m fortunate to have some nice cars including a 2012 Camaro ZL1 and a new 2023 Corvette ZO6/ZO7. To this day the Z28 is still one of the sharpest cars in my building. Good luck to all of you that donate to a great cause to try to win this car. You will love it.

    1. Nice parents and you managed to keep it in one piece all of these years. They look as if they were designed by Pininfarina, a sharp, tight look with no bad angles. The RS split bumper sets them off.

  8. Thanks Maynard. Yes my parents were very generous. The car has never been in an accident. They also left me a one owner 1957 Bel Air convertible with 70,000 mi when my father passed away in 1997. He was very much a “Car Guy”.
