General Motors has just officially launched the all-new 2024 Chevy Trax in South Korea, the home country of Chevrolet‘s new entry-level global crossover.
The automaker’s South Korean subsidiary launched the all-new 2024 Chevy Trax on March 22nd during a special launch event at the Korea International Exhibition Center (KINTEX) in Goyang City, where it officially introduced the second-generation Trax in the domestic market of the Asian country. The 2024 Trax seeks to redefine the crossover segment in Korea with a new format that reflects true American DNA.
“We are paving the way for GM’s new target segment, crossovers, with the Chevrolet Trax’s launch in Korea,” said President and CEO of GM Korea, Roberto Rempel. “The global and domestic markets are looking forward to the all-new model, as it starts a new chapter for the Chevrolet brand,” he added.
As in the U.S. market, the all-new 2024 Chevy Trax was introduced as the entry-level crossover to Chevrolet’s utility vehicle portfolio in South Korea, positioned below the Chevy Trailblazer in the lineup. GM Korea claims that the 2024 Trax combines the driving comfort of a car with the versatility of a utility vehicle, completing the package with ample interior space, high fuel efficiency and state-of-the-art technologies.
In particular, the 2024 Chevy Trax will be available in South Korea with four trim levels – LS, LT, Activ and RS – that offer distinctive designs and a comprehensive list of standard features. All are equipped with the turbocharged 1.2L I3 LIH engine that develops 139 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque, mated exclusively to a third-generation six-speed automatic transmission and standard front-wheel drive.
The all-new 2024 Chevy Trax debuts in South Korea with an aggressive positioning that seeks to increase sales and the Bow Tie brand’s competitiveness in the Asian country, with a unique proposal in the entry-level crossover market based on the rich American heritage of Chevrolet SUVs. Korea’s 2024 Trax has exclusive features like an autohold function, second-row air vents, a power liftgate, and LED taillamps.
Here are starting prices for the 2024 Chevy Trax in South Korea:
- 2024 Trax LS: 20,520,000 won (about $15,740 USD at the current exchange rate)
- 2024 Trax LT: 23,660,000 won ($18,150 USD)

A very important crossover for GM! However, I foresee the company possibly having problems supplying dealers in sufficient numbers, especially if they properly market the vehicle with attractive advertisements.
It looks good inside and out and no CVT make this more appealing. I hope it fares well in comparison tests.
looks great! i want one….1RS
Shame, GM put the wrong motor in the new Trax.
as one who has complained about the engines in the TB and especially the Encore GX, the Trax is designed to be entry-level so the engine fits.
too bad only FWD AWD is needed for people in snowy areas. I wouldve bought one
GM again snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. No AWD was left out in order to differentiate from Trailblazer & not hurt Encore.
GM hasn’t gotten the memo that Sloan’s Ladder is dead. Hyundai and Kia flood the market with well-equipped models in an effort to produce multiple appealing options so that no consumer is list. GM could learn from this
Better if it were made in USA
1 engine choice here, basically one in the trail boss, one in the equinox, one basically in the Colorado. I probably forgot one. Don’t u love having choices.
