The 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 White Wheel Arch Moldings Are Available Again

Back in August 2022, GM Authority reported that certain body-colored wheel arch moldings were unavailable to order on the 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 and 2023 GMC Sierra HD pickup trucks. Now, almost eight months later, we’ve learned that wheel arch moldings finished in one of two shades of white are available once more for the Sierra 1500.

GM Authority sources familiar with the matter tell us that the LPO, or dealer-installed, body-colored wheel arch moldings (RPO code SF6) in either Summit White (color code GAZ) or White Frost Tricoat (color code G1W) paint colors are available to be ordered again on the 2023 Sierra 1500.

Before going AWOL, pricing for these body-colored wheel arch moldings was set at $750. However, this may change as they become available once more.

As a reminder, the 2023 GMC Sierra is notable for receiving two important features, a new trim level and a new powerplant. In regard to the trim, the 2023 GMC Sierra AT4X AEV Edition makes its debut as the most off-road ready Sierra GM has ever offered. Meanwhile, the “regular” 2023 GMC Sierra AT4X received new equipment from the AEV Edition.

In addition, the 2023 Sierra 1500 sees the introduction of the 3.0L I6 LZ0 turbodiesel Duramax. Replacing the outgoing 3.0L I6 LM2 turbodiesel Duramax, and hailed as the “second iteration” of GM’s Duramax 3.0L straight-six, the new diesel is rated at 305 horsepower and 495 pound-feet of torque.

In regard to the other powertrain options, the 2023 Sierra 1500 is available with the turbocharged 2.7L I4 L3B gasoline engine, rated at 310 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque, the atmospheric 5.3L V8 L84 gasoline engine, rated at 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque, and the atmospheric 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine, rated at 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque.

As for transmission options, the L3B is mated to the GM eight-speed automatic, while the L84, the L87 and the LZ0 are mated to the GM 10-speed automatic.

Under the skin, the 2023 Sierra rides on the GM T1 platform, which it shares with its corporate platform-mate, the 2023 Chevy Silverado 1500. Production takes place at the GM Fort Wayne plant in Indiana and the GM Silao plant in Mexico.

    1. Get the primered options and have them painted in the color you want. It’s a bit more expensive but the result is worth it.

  4. They might be available but that doesn’t mean the factory will get around to installing them. I have GMC Sierra on order for 6 months. Sitting in the factory’s dispatch lot for 3 months. Think twice before ordering a GMC.
