Is The 2024 Cadillac Escalade Refresh Getting This Humongous New Screen?

GM may be planning a pillar-to-pillar infotainment screen for the upcoming 2024 Cadillac Escalade as one of the major highlights of its mid-cycle refresh. However, spy shots of the interior leave the exact dimensions and positioning of the screen open to interpretation.
What is certain is that recent spy photos of the 2024 Cadillac Escalade ESV show something unusual may be going on with the vehicle’s dash, which is hidden under considerable camouflage.
The entire screen panel appears to have been shifted forward, nearer to the windshield. Related to the possibly changed position of the screen and modification of the dash, a new ledge has appeared behind the steering wheel and on the center stack.
Speculatively, this may mean a new digital driver instrument cluster and new infotainment touchscreen are in the works for the 2024 Cadillac Escalade. The camouflage could potentially be veiling a pillar-to-pillar panel similar to the 55-inch-diagonal advanced HD display included in the new flagship 2024 Cadillac Celestiq.
The Celestiq’s huge screen features a passenger-side display enabling replay of media, Internet use, and smartphone connections. The driver side of the screen shows information about the vehicle.
Competition may be driving GM to offer a full-width screen on the 2024 Cadillac Escalade. A wider screen could help the Escalade compete against the Grand Wagoneer, which features a special screen for the passenger. The driver is unable to see this screen, but the passenger can use a USB drive or HDMI port to stream video.
A pillar-to-pillar screen for the 2024 Cadillac Escalade seems plausible at this point, but there are also several reasons an enlarged screen might not materialize.
The full-size SUV’s latest generation debuted very recently with the 2021 model year, and at that time received a 38-inch curved OLED display made up of three screens. The display includes advanced technology, including “twice the pixel density of a 4K television,” enabling “bold imagery, perfect blacks and the largest color range available in the automotive industry.”
GM might not add an even larger screen to the Cadillac Escalade’s interior so soon after it was already upgraded with one of the world’s largest and most sophisticated displays to be featured on any production vehicle.
Additionally, the apparent forward shift of the display toward the windshield and the visible ledge could simply mean the screen hadn’t been fitted at all to the prototype’s dash at the time the spy photos were taken. The camouflage could simply be covering an empty space where the usual 38-inch OLED display will be fitted at a later date.
The mystery will be resolved at the latest when the start of regular production (SORP) for the 2024 Cadillac Escalade arrives in November 2023, as GM Authority exclusively revealed. Regardless of the exact screen the refreshed Escalade is equipped with, it will feature a revised roof fin antenna with a puck shape and 24-inch alloy wheels that will be made available across The General’s whole refreshed 2024 SUV lineup.
As a reminder, two of the three current powertrain choices are expected to move forward to the 2024 Cadillac Escalade with no changes. These include the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine developing 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, and the supercharged 6.2L V8 LT4, rated at 682 horsepower and 653 pound-feet of torque and used in the Escalade-V.
The optional 3.0L I6 LM2 turbodiesel Duramax, developing 277 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, is expected to be replaced by the updated 3.0L I6 LZ0 Duramax engine, rated at 305 horsepower and 495 pound-feet of torque. All engine options are paired with the GM 10-speed automatic transmission.
Under the skin, the Escalade rides on the GM T1 platform that underpins all GM full-size SUVs. Production will take place at the GM Arlington plant in Texas.

Did it ever occur to GM that the passenger would most likely be on their phone instead of reaching out to use that humongous screen?
I think the pillar to pillar screen should stay exclusive to Celestiq for the time being. Let’s get that car in production and out on the streets a bit before trickling down its key features to the rest of the Cadillac portfolio. Honestly, I think the pillar to pillar screen should be saved until the full sized Escalade EV. These top models need differentiation from the more “mainstream” Lyriq and similar models.
Celestiq’s interior needs more physical buttons. Otherwise it will date very soon.
U can’t get a wow factor only with the screens nowadays. There are plenty cheap chinese cars that have pillar to pillar screens now.
I don’t know why they did not add more physical buttons. Looks empty. When you make a 300k car you also have to make a timeless interior.
And the rear. Gm’s rear part designers must be fired. C8,lyriq. And this. 300k for that rear?
Have not received my 2023 that I ordered , maybe I will get it before 2025 !
Ron, I’m not sure how long you’ve been waiting, but if it’s been longer than 6 months you may want to reach out to a different dealer to check their delivery times. I placed a deposit on my ’23 Escalade Sport in late June, 2022 and it hit my dealer in mid October. (Under 5 months) It would have been even faster, but there was a small snafu, which the dealer corrected the instant it was discovered.
Im looking for a escalade now, but had the same thing with ordered f150, mine at larger dealer took about 6 months and on different forums people are waiting 14 months + and not yet received them. So check where you are buying. Bigger dealer means you might get the car faster.
