Production of the eagerly awaited 2024 Cadillac Lyriq is expected to begin this month, which will also fulfill some orders for the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq GM opted to switch over to the 2024 model year, following quality-related production delays.
Now we’re giving you a closer look at the five different wheel options available on the 2024 Cadillac Lyriq. All five are alloy wheels and are either 20 inches or 22 inches in diameter.
The specific wheels equipped on a 2024 Cadillac Lyriq depend on the trim level. The Tech, Luxury 1, Luxury 2, Sport 1, and Sport 2 trim levels ride on 20-inch wheels, while 22-inch wheels are fitted to the range-topping Luxury 3 and Sport 3 trims. As of mid-May 2023, 20-inch wheels can now be ordered on Luxury 3 and Sport 3 variants, lowering the vehicle’s price by $1,000.

In regards to specifications, the 2024 Cadillac Lyriq will continue to ride on the GM BEV3 platform, while motivation is provided by GM Ultium batteries and GM Ultium Drive motors. Production of the all-electric luxury crossover will continue to take place at the GM Spring Hill plant in Tennessee.

So the nice original 20 inch rims displayed on the debut are now only available on the sport model?? Not sure why there would be any restrictions between the Lux and Sport models of the same class#. Seems illogical and should be up to the consumer.
If you look at the chart it is not wheel “OPTIONS”, it is the DELIVERED WHEEL that you will get with your car based on model and class#.
Typical OEM tactics to ‘differentiate’ trims and upsell – just make a few compelling wheels and let customers option what they want. Especially when this is a LOW volume vehicle driven by GM’s inability to make more than 1000 a year. Think of the cost associated with designing, making and storing 6 sets of wheels. GM is way overcomplicating this. It is painful watching this transition.
Haha, of course, when you call a dealership, they say that you won’t pick up a LYRIQ ordered today until at least 2025.
So it will be interesting to see if – like the 2023 model year fiasco – where nothing stated ended up being true in actuality, whether these articles turn out to be fantasy and it would be more instructive to see what will be offered in the 2025 LYRIQ Brochure..
Its a sexy car in red, can you imagine how many of these they would be selling if it had the 3.6 V6 for like $55K?
Theirs going to be a lot of bent rims with the narrow side walls on these tires. Rough riding to go along with it in our potholed roads in the northeast. Trying to increase rolling efficiency is going to give you a lousy ride.
Invest in curb feelers.
Is it bad that I like the “tech” wheel best?
My preferred wheel is the Bright Silver, 20″ wheel. The tire will have a taller sidewall for a better ride, plus the wheel has more BLING instead of the old dark “Mayberry, Police Car” look.
Although the online Build and Price tool includes 22” wheels with the Luxury 3 and Sport 3 trims, when I went to the dealership to configure my car, they were able to order my Sport 3 trim with the 20” wheels, and there will be a corresponding price reduction. I find the 20” wheels to be more practical for my use, as they are less vulnerable to damage from potholes and curbs; tires will be longer-lasting and less expensive, and I’ll be able to use snow traction devices on the smaller wheels.
