- Pro – $38,995
- SLE – $52,095

The 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 introduces only a handful of changes and updates compared to the refreshed 2022 Sierra 1500. One of those includes availability of a new Graphite Edition package on the base Sierra Pro. Also, the 2023 Sierra 1500 now sees the return of the Brembo Performance Brake Kit.
The big news for 2023 is the debut of the first-ever 2023 GMC Sierra AT4X AEV Edition as the most off-road-capable factory Sierra 1500 ever, developed with input from American Expedition Vehicles (AEV) like on the Chevy Colorado ZR2 Bison and first-ever 2023 Chevy Silverado 1500 ZR2 Bison. Additionally, the “standard” 2023 GMC Sierra AT4X receives new equipment from the AEV Edition.
GMC announced last month that the 2023 Sierra AT4X upgrade will result in a $3,395 increase. Additionally, the price increased by $1,000 over the 2022 on every trim level except for the Denali Ultimate and AT4, which have received respective price increases of $900 and $1,900. The 2023 Sierra 1500 received another price increase in November, including $3,395 on the AT4X, as noted above, and between $300 and $1,495 depending on other trim levels. This price hike includes a $100 bump in the destination freight charge, which is included and now $1,895.
Production of the 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 kicked off at the GM Fort Wayne plant in Indiana on August 20th, 2022, and at the GM Silao plant in Mexico on August 29th, 2022, for both Regular Cab and Crew Cab models, and on September 6th, 2022, for Double Cab models. The online configurator tool is now live for the 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 and for the 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4X trim and AT4X AEV Edition. The online configurator tool is live for the 2023 Sierra.
Production of the 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 is set to kick off on July 17th.

GMC Sierra Discount Reaches $6,000 In September 2024

All 4 bangers
It’s probably a great engine but not for a full-sized truck. Put it in the Colorado/Canyon and maybe even the Malibu., with the right trans and gearing it would scoot. But I forgot Mary isn’t a car guy she’s a bean counter.
Looks like this engine is the only engine available in the Colorado/Canyon in 2023.
The 2.7-Liter is inline-4 turbo-charged gasoline engine. Limited to work-truck trim-levels, not offered on SLT or higher trims.
If you want to scoot, forget the inline-4 gasoline engine. Look at inline-6 turbo-charged diesel engine and note foot-pounds-torque, equal to 6.2-Liter vertical-8 EcoTec3 gasoline engine, both at 460 torque.
Duramax turbo-diesel 3.0-Liter inline-6 delivers 24 MPG City / 30 MPG Hwy. Consider with 24 gallons fuel tank.
Gasoline, even with EcoTec3 vertical-4 and vertical-8 engines deliver under diesel fuel ranges.
Actually, the diesel engine produces 495 torque. I just got my ’23 High Country with the turbo 6 Duramax, Max Towing Package and Technology Package. I’m amazed at the power! Additionally, the dealer is 65 miles away with a lot of hills between, and my MPG was 29.7. Couldn’t ask for more. Happy Driver!
Agreed, I was referring to my proposed Malibu application. I also agree that the 3.0 turbo diesel is a great engine for the half tons.
Here’s a more informative headline:
Trucks with 2.7L Turbo discounted in March.
Could the reason for the ‘incentives’ be that coercion is necessary to get somebody, ANYBODY, to buy any of these trucks with such a pathetic engine?
Best deal on short beds as well. But the Colorado is only made in short box and that because gm says that’s what people want. Yeah right ! Lousy 5 foot bed.
I received an e-mail from Chevy yesterday touting their 0% interest for all Silverado trucks PLUS a $1,000 discount on the 2.7L turbo powered trucks.
I to think this is bs, I think the big 3 are colluding to keep prices high to pay for the ev crap. Laying off hundreds of people/more to keep the suvs and trucks artificially inflated. Their will be a market correction coming to mimic the housing bubble. I hope the government investigates after these vehicles become underwater in value to their loans. Their greed is definitely causing inflation.
I’ll tell you what’s messed up. Just found a 2023 regular cab short box 4wd Silverado listed at $46,000 and had no heated seat or power seat or remote start! A bought a loaded crew cab a few years and had all that!
