2023 GMC Canyons are made of Unobtainium.
No trucks will be delivered until the price is justified by the scarcity.
Pretty sad after all the hype they failed to get one on a dealer lot.
I hope the truck is more successful than the release which is a total failure to launch!
I agree completely – this launch appears to be subverted by a false supply shortage being artificially created by the lack of EPA publishing the mileage estimates. As I understand it and according to the reporting of this website, the trucks started rolling off the line on January 29th – six weeks ago – and they have been rolling off literally 24/7 since then. Therefore, there are literally 1.000’s of Canyons/upper trim level Colorados sitting at Wentzville – fully assembled but cannot ship because the EPA mileage is unresolved. At first, I thought this was a legitimate oversight. However, this is dragging on leading me to believe this is purposeful. Is seems very odd that the entry level Colorado work truck has an approved EPA mileage rating and is shipping but all the other trim levels of the Colorado and all Canyons due of the enhanced power tune of the motor is still awaiting the EPA fuel estimate. How can this be the case? After all, GM has applied for mileage ratings literally hundreds, if not thousands of times – and now its delayed? ANSWER: Creation of false supply shortage which drives up demand, which increases selling prices, which increases GM and dealership profits…..
They weren’t allowed to release them to the dealers until the EPA signed off on the MPG ratings which was last week or the week before. They will soon be showing up at dealers.
That’s my point – EPA has NOT signed off. Check the EPA webpage – I just did- the mileage for the ‘23 Canyon is not listed. Therefore, the trucks cannot be shipped. Something is wrong with this scenario…..
Don’t be expecting much in MPG. It’s not going to be good.
You might as well go buy a full sized truck
It’s all kinda hokey. My order has been built since February6. My confidence level in the new truck is dropping daily. Thinking about getting my deposit back. They will release this batch and then bring out the 24 model in the summer, dropping the value of all the 23’s, which are already overpriced. And now releasing advertising for “special incentives” on 22 models, of which there are none, at least in central Arkansas. Looking like the management has no idea what they are doing. Except gouging customers and participating in the breaking of the American economy. I think GM does so much business world-wide, they are not too concerned about little ol’ USA and these baby trucks. I think to be fair to all of us who have ordered, they should ship these as 24 models.
I don’t think GM wants to sell these trucks. The gas guzzling 2.7 with the notorious 8 speed is proof.
The previous model had a good drive train with the 2.8L diesel and 6 speed but a cheesy interior. Now the interior is good but the power train leaves a lot to be desired. Put the 3.0L Duramax and the 10 speed in them and build two new assembly plants to build them.
Leaves a lot to be desired? It has more torque than the diesel, way more HP, a redesigned second gen 8 speed (that once the fluid was changed was well reviewed) and mpg that is better than the 3.6 and 2.5. Go ahead and tell everyone you have zero clue what you are talking about…
How are we supposed to take delivery by April 3 when the trucks don’t even exist yet.
Any updates on status of the Canyons Denali leaving Wentzville
for delivery yet?
I ordered a GMC Canyon AT4, I live in Wisconsin and am supposed to get it by the end of May, so is what I am hearing from the dealer about delivery a bunch of crap, does anyone know the truth about these vehicles, or should I buy a Ford instead?
Thanks in advance for any info.

Why is the Canyon the only one in the GMC lineup without special financing from GM?? Worked a deal on a 2023 today my wife and I have perfect credit 850+ and they give us basically a 7% rate for 36 months!! We walked out and said NO THANKS!!!
