GM has issued a service bulletin for certain units of the 2022 GMC Sierra HD lineup due to incorrect shock absorbers.
The problem: affected vehicles where installed with the incorrect front shock absorbers at the factory.
The fix: certified GM technicians will be instructed to inspect the unit and replace the front shock absorbers as necessary. It will take GM techs less than one hour to perform the fix.

Number of affected vehicles: GM estimates that there are 16 trucks in total that are affected by this customer service program.
Owners should: wait to be contacted by GM or schedule an appointment with their local GMC dealership to have the service bulletin performed. Notably, this Customer Service Program will only be in effect until March 31st, 2025.

Under the hood, the 2022 GMC Sierra HD was offered with two engine options, including the atmospheric 6.6L V8 L8T gasoline engine, rated at 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque, and the 6.6L V8 L5P turbo-diesel Duramax, rated at 445 horsepower and 910 pound-feet of torque. In regard to transmission choices, the gasoline engine is mated to the GM six-speed automatic transmission, while the diesel engine is mated to the Allison-branded GM 10-speed automatic transmission.
As for structure, the Sierra HD rides on a more-capable version of GM’s T1 platform, with production taking place at the GM Flint plant in Michigan.
