GM has released a service bulletin for certain units of the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq due to a windshield molding retainer bracket issue.
The problem: affected vehicles may have a windshield molding retainer bracket that is too wide, making it out of Cadillac’s specifications.
The fix: certified GM technicians will be instructed to inspect the unit and modify the windshield molding retainer bracket as necessary. It will take GM techs less than an hour to perform the fix. It’s worth noting that for U.S. dealerships, only dealers who meet the EV Readiness Requirements and technicians who have completed the required training are eligible to perform the service bulletin. For Canadian dealerships, only dealers who have signed the Cadillac Retail and Facility Standards Addendum and have met all Lyriq-specific training, tools, and equipment requirements are eligible to perform the service bulletin.
Affected components: windshield molding retainer bracket.
Affected vehicles:
Number of affected vehicles: it’s currently unclear how many vehicles are affected by the service bulletin.
Owners should: wait to be contacted by GM or schedule an appointment with their local Cadillac dealership to have the service bulletin performed.

The Lyriq has had to deal with other quality-related issues, delaying deliveries of the all-electric crossover in order to apply a vehicle software management update in addition to resolving a cracking liftgate panel and performing a recall for display screen issues. Over the course of the 2022 calendar year, GM only made 122 deliveries of the Lyriq, despite production officially commencing in March 2022. However, GM is now shipping Lyriq units to dealerships.

I wish that GM Authority can obtain and post a photo or digital illustration of the affected part with every article about a recall.
The good news is that no 2023 Lyriqs were ever released to the public….so GM did not even have to put out a recall!!.
Tools needed to fix are probably a screwdriver, vise grips and tin snips. Not sure why the EV Readiness Requirements are a factor.
Great example of the old saying, “not ready for prime time”.
I finally received a call from Cadillac saying that GM has acknowledged my order of a 2023, but they still couldn’t say when I would receive it.
Did GM mention anything about a subsidy or credit since your original features are no longer the same on the 2024 MY? Not yet clear on the pricing carryover from 2023 to 2024MY. I assume this is a call from your dealer rather than GM..correct?
Actually no. The dealer couldn’t tell me anything, so I started sending e-mails to Mary Barra (GM-CEO). After I sent two of them, I started getting calls back from Cadillac directly.
