Life can be full of unexpected events, both good and bad. Recently, two podcasters were reminded of this reality while they were recording in a cafe as a Chevy Tahoe came crashing through the windows, narrowly coming to a halt before crushing the two.
While sitting in a Houston-based cafe, two podcasters were at the business end of a third-generation Chevy Tahoe that jumped a parking block, a curb, knocked over one bollard and squeezed in-between two other bollards, eventually crashing into the cafe’s windows. The two were sitting in front of the windows, and miraculously managed to be just “kissed” by the Tahoe as it shattered the window glass.
When taking a closer look at the video, it appears as though the driver of the Tahoe ran a red light, and got clipped at its rear end by another vehicle, which would explain why the full-size SUV came barreling out of control around the intersection. Luckily for the podcasters, the Tahoe didn’t crash through the windows at full speed, otherwise they likely would’ve been crushed. In another stroke of good luck, the glass didn’t shatter all over them.
As the Tahoe backs out of the window opening, we can spot a puddle of fluid spilled all over the sidewalk, indicating that the oil pan may have been hit, or the radiator emptied itself of discolored engine coolant. Whatever the extent of the damage, the driver will likely be paying some hefty bills for the multiple traffic infractions.
Thankfully, neither podcaster was injured as a result of this accident. This should go without being said, but even so, GM Authority would like to urge our readers to pay attention on the road and abide by the traffic laws. Save the antics for the closed road course, away from innocent bystanders.
