GM announced in a service bulletin that retrofits of the Front and Rear Park Assist feature (RPO code UD5) are under way on certain units of the 2022 Cadillac XT6 and 2023 Cadillac XT6 built with non-functional park assist.
The retrofits to these 2022 and 2023 Cadillac XT6 crossovers involve installation of the correct module to activate the feature. This was originally omitted as a result of the semiconductor shortage.
For the Cadillac XT6 of the affected model years, the Front and Rear Park Assist feature (UD5) is normally standard on all three trim levels, including Luxury, Premium Luxury, and Sport trims.
Cadillac XT6 units from 2022 model year were built without functional park assist starting on December 20th, 2022 and continuing forward. All 2023 model year Cadillac XT6 units manufactured from start of regular production (SORP) until the present (mid-March 2023) are affected by non-functional park assist.
GM printed a special code on the window sticker of the 2022 and 2023 Cadillac XT6s produced without active park assist. The window sticker includes RPO code 00Z if the vehicle was produced with a non-functional Front and Rear Park Assist (UD5) feature.
The GM Customer Satisfaction Program and associated retrofit apply to several other vehicles, including the XT4 and XT5 crossovers from the Cadillac brand and the 2022 Chevy Camaro and 2023 Chevy Camaro produced by Chevrolet.
The retrofit involves replacement of the currently installed non-functional park assist module with a new, functional park assist module. Two nuts are also used in the installation. The retrofit is handled by service personnel a Cadillac dealership. The process may also require reprogramming the instrument cluster and the safety control module, though this is not needed for some vehicles.
The park assist module replacement for a Cadillac XT6 takes approximately 48 minutes or 0.8 hours on average for service personnel to complete. Dealerships provide the retrofit free of additional charge.
This Cadillac XT6 retrofit program will remain active for roughly 36 months from this date, until March 31st, 2026.
Customers were informed at the time they purchased or took delivery of their Cadillac XT6 that the Front and Rear Park Assist feature was non-functional. The dealership also notified these buyers of the crossover’s eligibility for a retrofit at no additional cost once the necessary parts became available. Window stickers include the RPO code 00Z to mark affected units.
Owners of affected 2022 or 2023 Cadillac XT6s with questions regarding the retrofit can call Cadillac’s customer service number, referencing the GM customer satisfaction program number below.
