Cadillac Lyriq-V Spied, Confirming What We’ve Told You All Along

Cadillac is cooking up a new high-performance variant of the Lyriq luxury crossover dubbed the Cadillac Lyriq-V, and now, GM Authority spy photographers have captured the forthcoming all-electric performer testing as a prototype.

GM Authority was the first to report exclusive details on what the upcoming Cadillac Lyriq-V will offer over the standard model, and these new photos confirm those details.

A spy photo of the upcoming Cadillac Lyriq-V.

Up front, we see this Cadillac Lyriq-V prototype wearing a unique front fascia treatment, with a sleek upper LED “grille” section and a new lower chin spoiler covered in black-and-white camouflage. The lower lip incorporates twin intake sections with a mesh-like grille insert, the latter of which draws similarities from Cadillac’s current V-Series models. It appears as though the upper LED grille on this prototype is turned off.

Moving around to the profile, we see this Cadillac Lyriq-V prototype running a new body kit with a sleek, streamlined appearance. This prototype also appears to have a lower stance compared to the standard model. Familiar two-tone wheels roll in the corners, although the production model is expected to offer up some unique wheel designs.

The tail end incorporates what looks to be revisions to the styling in the rear bumper, with faux diffuser-esque “bumps” along the lower edge of the bumper. We also see familiar vertical lighting in the corners and L-shaped upper lighting elements.

As covered previously, the Cadillac Lyriq-V will incorporate similar dark-themed accents as the 2024 Cadillac Lyriq Sport, lending it a sporty, sinister appearance. Also expect the traditional V-Series badging. In the cabin, the Cadillac Lyriq-V will likely offer a unique interior colorway, plus additional V-Series badging.

As for motivation, the Cadillac Lyriq-V will incorporate a high-performance AWD setup with output greater than that of the current Lyirq AWD, the latter of which is rated at 500 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque.

Rumors of a new Cadillac Lyriq-V model have been swirling for years now. Back in 2021, comments made by Global Cadillac chief Rory Harvey suggested that such a model was indeed in the works. More recently, GM Authority discovered that a new Cadillac Lyriq-V was offered as an option on the official Cadillac accessories website.

Stay tuned as we uncover additional information about this new high-performance GM EV, and remember to subscribe to GM Authority for more Cadillac Lyriq-V news, Cadillac Lyriq news, Cadillac news, GM electric vehicle news, and around-the-clock GM news coverage.

  1. What’s the point of this camo when it’s not actually hiding anything?
Is the trim pink on the bottom or something?

  2. After years of wishing for V versions of their crossovers, I’m glad to see this released so soon. This decade is their last shot at legitimacy and they are acting like it.

  3. I think back to the great CTS ad of ’08. When you turn your car on, does it return the favor? The lyriq definitely isn’t doing it for me.

  4. I must say this a breath of fresh air… It’s great to see Cadillac offer unique vehicles again from the CT4 to the Escalade to the Lyric and adding V-Series is just icing on the cake! This is how Cadillac used to be bold and not afraid to do something different and their old attitude was if don’t like then don’t buy it… It’s good to see that they are getting that Mojo back again! Great job to folks at Cadillac.

  5. I wish that Cadillac would bring back the Fleetwood in some form for a luxury/boat type of car. I have had many hot rods, sports cars and race cars over my lifetime but I guess I am old now (ha) and want that smooth ride and luxury.

    1. I believe that they will build such a car like that in the future.

    2. @ TommyO… I am 44 years old and I remember riding in my dad’s 1971 Cadillac sedan DeVille I was three or four at that time… That car was awesome you didn’t feel one single bump, you felt safe in that tank no pun intended, plenty of power, and I sat up front with dad… Remember this was 1982 or 83, and I had my seat belt on no airbags back then at that age I felt like I was sitting on the ocean nice and comfortable to. I tell my wife all the time that one day I want to find a 1971 Cadillac sedan DeVille in midnight blue with a navy blue interior with REAL WOOD trim and the 502 V8. That car was super reliable what killed it was my father was at a stoplight in NYC and a van went through his red light my father hit the van, it bashed in the front of DeVille but when he got it home to Warwick NY it still started up… My father junked it… He still regrets that decision until this day in 2023! After that he had an 1977 Cadillac ELDO Birtaz that was nice to but my favorite was the ’71 sedan DeVille. I want to find one and relive those memories with my son.

  6. A bit boxy like many of the other crossover suvs. I am not a big fan of that type of design but it is what you get when you want to achieve a suv product without it being very long to reduce the box look.. The rear side window and roof treatment isn’t totally to my liking but a hell of a lot better than many others. It looks like a Cadillac unlike many others that are hard to define the manufacture unless you look at the, “in your face” front end, i.e. BMW, MB, Lexus ++.

  7. This car or SUV just doesn’t look that good in this color with the blackened back windows. Not that it really matters since this model will probably be released in CHINA years before it ever makes it way onto the American roads. It seems that production and model releases are 6 months to a year ahead in China compared to the US now. Even mileage ratings for the Chinese versions far exceeds the US models – not sure why unless their batteries are more efficient. Maybe GM should be selling the US consumers the Chinese versions of this car assuming it meets US DOT approval. It may be a better vehicle.
