The Cadillac Blackwing sedans are nothing short of epic, offering up the most track-worthy performance of any production model to ever wear the Caddy crest. Now, Cadillac Blackwing owners are receiving a new Blackwing decklid badge that enables them to proudly display their vehicle’s impressive performance credentials.
The new decklid badge includes the iconic V-Series logo above and the “BLACKWING” script below, and is applied to the vehicle decklid via an adhesive.
The V-Series badge includes an italicized “V” and stylized grid pattern that’s meant to resemble a checkered flag. The grid incorporates gold, red, silver, blue, and black strips, the same colors as the Cadillac crest. The Blackwing logo is placed directly underneath the V-Series badge with black lettering and silver backing, as well as a slanted section on the right that provides added visual movement.
An alcohol swab is provided in order to properly clean the decklid surface prior to applying the new Cadillac Blackwing badge.
As GM Authority covered earlier this year, GM has notified current Blackwing sedan owners regarding the new Cadillac Blackwing badge.
“You earned it! The CT4-V Blackwing / CT5-V Blackwing models will now carry the Blackwing designation beneath the V-Series badge on the rear decklid,” the message from GM reads. “We know how special your V-Series Blackwing is, the designation will make it stand out even more!”
Blackwing sedan owners can contact Cadillac directly (1-800-333-4223) and request their own Blackwing badge, if desired. Owners must provide their VIN.
As a reminder, the Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing cradles the twin-turbocharged 3.6L V6 LF4 gasoline engine, which doles out 472 horsepower and 445 pound-feet of torque. Meanwhile, the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing cradles the supercharged 6.2L V8 LT4 gasoline engine, which is rated at 668 horsepower and 659 pound-feet of torque. Both four-doors ride on the GM Alpha 2 platform, while production takes place at the GM Lansing Grand River plant in Michigan.
