Following the world debut of the all-new 2024 Chevy Aveo and the start of its market rollout in Mexico, General Motors is preparing to expand the availability of Chevrolet‘s new entry-level car in select Latin American countries.
The automaker will soon offer the all-new 2024 Chevy Aveo in Latin America as part of the international strategy developed for the product, which grew out of an alliance with China’s SAIC-GM-Wuling joint venture (exploiting the Wuling and Baojun brands), alongside other vehicles recently introduced in the region, such as the Chevy Captiva and the Chevy Groove. In particular, the new model will reach the countries in which the brand markets the Chinese-built Chevy Sail.
In addition to its strategic launch in Mexico, the 2024 Chevy Aveo also aims to renew Chevrolet’s offering in the entry-level segment in Central American countries, Africa and selected South American markets. Although GM’s South American subsidiary has yet to reveal the details of the plan, the new subcompact vehicle could reach countries like Chile, Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia.
GM is putting the finishing touches on the 2024 Chevy Aveo’s marketing plans in Latin America, defining the specific countries and studying the nomenclature of the vehicle in each of them. As such, it is possible that the new 2024 Aveo will be sold under different names in that region just as it happened with the current Chevy Sail developed by the manufacturer’s main SAIC-GM joint venture in the Asian country (exploiting the Buick, Cadillac and Chevrolet brands).
In any case, the all-new 2024 Chevy Aveo is the first vehicle in SGMW’s next-generation product portfolio, wearing the Wuling brand’s global silver logo, to be sold in emerging countries as a Chevrolet model. It will be built exclusively at the SGMW Tianjin plant in China, available in both sedan and five-door hatchback body styles with a naturally aspirated 1.5L engine that develops 98 horsepower and 105 pound-feet of torque.
The all-new 2024 Chevy Aveo is expected to expand its Latin American market reach during the second half of the year, several months after its launch in Mexico – which will remain the main volume market for the new generation of the vehicle. The official details on versions, equipment levels will be revealed as its introduction in each regional market approaches.

Yeah, more Chinese garbage. The previous Aveo was better.
Good styling costs nothing, but it looks like GM could not afford it.
It’s an Aveo, and one for emerging markets-only at that… I think it looks fine for it’s intended purpose, way better than the Aveo we had in the US market.
