2024 Chevy Silverado HD High Country In Black: Live Photo Gallery

Production of the refreshed 2024 Chevy Silverado HD kicked off just last month at the GM Flint Assembly plant in Michigan and GM Oshawa plant in Canada. After getting our first look at the 2024 Silverado HD High Country on public roads, GM Authority photographers have now captured another High Country truck, this time painted in black, giving the truck a more sinister demeanor.

2024 Chevy Silverado HD High Country.

This particular High Country trim is in Crew Cab, Standard Bed configuration and is finished in the Black paint color (color code GBA).

New for the 2024 model year High Country trim is a new decorative strip running the length of the doors, at the bottom. This piece also contains the truck’s tonnage designation, indicating that this model is a 2500 HD unit. In addition, the badge on the hood shows us that this big boy is equipped with the uprated L5P Duramax turbodiesel engine.

Up front, we see the new-for-2024 front fascia design, featuring the new, C-shaped LED headlamp signature, chromed-out front grille and color-matched front bumper. Additionally, silver tow hooks (recovery hooks) can be seen on the lower end of the fascia.

As for rollers, this Silverado HD is running eight-spoke, 20-inch Bright Chrome wheels (RPO code S8A), which are standard on and exclusive to the range-topping trim level.

Moving around to the side of this 2024 Silverado HD, we can see a full chrome treatment, including chromed six-inch rectangular assist steps (RPO code BVQ), chrome door handles, and chrome mirror caps. There’s also the chrome DLO (Daylight Opening) trim.

Out back, we see the body-matched rear bumper, which also includes the GM CornerStep, as well as Silverado and High Country hard badges on either side of the tailgate. A gold Chevy Bow Tie brand is prominently featured on the Chevy Multi-Flex tailgate.

For those who may be unaware, the 2024 Chevy Silverado HD will continue to be equipped with the naturally aspirated 6.6L V8 L8T gasoline engine as standard, rated at 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque. Meanwhile, the 6.6L V8 L5P turbodiesel Duramax remains optional across the entire trim lineup, and has been updated to produced 470 horsepower and 975 pound-feet of torque for the mid-cycle refresh. As far as transmission choices, all models will be equipped with the Allison-branded ten-speed automatic transmission as standard no matter engine option.

  3. How is that door ding trim held on? 3m tape or holes in the doors with plastic clips? Blacking out would suck, if it was the latter of the two.

  5. Too much chrome in the front and sides. Also split personality when you compare to rear.
