General Motors has just announced the start of the pre-sale process for the 2024 Cadillac Lyriq in Mexico, while detailing its plans to market Cadillac‘s all-electric crossover in the Latin country.
GM’s luxury brand announced that it will start the pre-sale process for the 2024 Cadillac Lyriq EV this week in Mexico, which will officially become Cadillac’s second auxiliary market to receive the Lyriq after the rollout of the model in China, the United States, Canada and its expected launch in the Middle East in the middle of this year. The Cadillac Lyriq’s arrival in the Mexican market is scheduled for Q3 2023.
The pre-sale process for the 2024 Cadillac Lyriq in Mexico will consist of two phases. The first starts from March 8th through 12th at select Cadillac dealers in the country, who will send a personalized invitation to their customers so they can participate in the online process of pre-ordering the electric crossover. The second phase will be from March 13th to the 27th, when the process will be open to the general public on Cadillac Mexico‘s website.
During the pre-sale period, Mexican customers will be able to order the 2024 Cadillac Lyriq by choosing the exterior color, interior trim and accessories of their choice – including whether they want it with a black or body-color roof. The pre-sale process must be completed with a deposit of 55,000 pesos (about $3,050 USD at the current exchange rate), which will be discounted from the vehicle’s final price when the customer completes the purchase at an authorized dealer.
Notably, the 2024 Cadillac Lyriq’s pre-sale period represents the first such process in Cadillac’s history in Mexico, and ushers in the new zero-emissions era of both the brand and its parent company in the North American country. In fact, the 2024 Lyriq is the first vehicle using GM’s Ultium battery and Ultium Drive motor technology to be offered in the Mexican market.
The 2024 Cadillac Lyriq will be officially launched and go on sale in Mexico during the third quarter of this year, when the automaker plans to make the first deliveries to customers participating in the current pre-sale process. Initially, the Lyriq will only be available with AWD and the two-motor powertrain, which develop 500 horsepower and 450 pound-fet of torque. Pricing starts at 1,899,000 pesos, or $105,430 USD.

?? 105K in Mexico?? Why would anyone pay that much for the same vehicle. Does this mean some of the US built units will now be shipping to Mexico when GM can’t even produce the units for the US citizens who are still waiting after putting down deposits??
105K for Luxury vehicles in Mexico is cheap, and for a Mid-Size electric SUV thats a bargain, thats the same as the ICE Blazer in Mexico, and the blazer sells quite well.
PDW:
I don’t expect much Brilliance from GMs self-appointed marketing BRAINS…
As mentioned I could have purchased a 2023 Black Debut model for $60,000 plus a dealer $25,000 ‘Market Adjustment’ but since I’m not made of money – I decided NOT to cancel my 2023 Blue, now forced on me Black Luxury RWD Lyriq supposedly to be manufactured during the week of 4/17/2023, irrespective of what GMA and Cadillac Society say about the termination of the 2023 model year production runs.
Otherwise, dealers say any Lyriq ordered recently will not arrive until 2025…
One wonders how many years it will take to get Hummer EVs, Silverado and Sierra EVs, Blazer and Equinox EVs, when even the ‘old fashioned’ Bolts are in short supply in most places and non-existent elsewhere.
People who are worried about ‘Electric Grid Strain’ can relax in that it is quite obvious at long last now, that there will be essentially no GM vehicles contributing to what should be, a non-problem.
