The 2023 model year of the C8 Corvette has been in production since May 2022. Now, roughly 10 months since the start of regular production (SORP) of the 2023 Corvette, the C8 Stingray and C8 Z06 are available to order with the Engine Appearance Package.
The Engine Appearance Package (RPO code ZZ3) is now available on all Corvette Coupe trim levels, including the 2023 Stingray and 2023 Z06. As a trim package, this option includes (relevant RPO code in parenthesis):
- Carbon fiber trim (B6P)
- Engine lighting (D3V)
The package is offered for an extra charge of $995. However, it is not available on Corvette Convertible models.
Per previous GM Authority coverage, the Engine Appearance Packages was under constraint for the C8 Corvette since late January 2022 due to a supplier issue. This would indicate that the availability issues carried over from 2022 Corvette production.
As a reminder, the 2023 Corvette is offered in two configurations, the C8 Stingray and C8 Z06. The Stingray is powered by the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 LT2 gasoline engine, which is rated at 490 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque, or 495 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque with optional dual-mode performance exhaust system (RPO code NPP). Meanwhile, the Z06 is powered by the naturally aspirated 5.5L V8 LT6 gasoline engine, which produces 670 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque.
In addition, the upcoming 2024 Corvette E-Ray combines the aforementioned LT2 engine with an electric motor on the front axle to bring total output up to 655 horsepower.
Under the skin, all C8 Corvette variants, including the hybrid C8 E-Ray, ride on the GM Y2 platform. Production takes place exclusively at the GM Bowling Green plant in Kentucky.

Beautiful!
Nice…!!!
Not sure if this the right place to request this but I have 2 topics I’d like to see talked about for the E-Ray:
I’m on an E-Ray list at my dealer and I have the following questions that have come to mind”’
1. What will the battery portion of the E-Ray last after 5 years, 10 years or more? How will you know the batteries are losing power over time?
2. I’ve heard that the V8 is “synchronized” with the electric motor up front so they operate together. Can I modify the V8 or the exhaust to increase Hp without negative effects to the electric power up front or the overall synchronization of the electric motor up front and the V8 in the back?
Thanks
