The 2023 Chevy Blazer introduces the fifth model year for the crossover, debuting a full model refresh that includes a number of important updates and changes, such as revised front and rear fascia styling, new lighting bits, and a new infotainment display. Unfortunately, GM Authority has learned that the 2023 Chevy Blazer is currently unavailable to order with the Nitro Yellow Metallic paint option.
The Nitro Yellow Metallic paint option was added to the Chevy Blazer color options list for the 2022 model year, and is tagged with paint code GCP. Nitro Yellow Metallic is usually available exclusively on the RS trim levels for an extra $395. The paint also requires a black-painted roof, which costs $550. Nitro Yellow Metallic was offered exclusively in conjunction with the Jet Black interior colorway.
According to GM Authority sources, Nitro Yellow Metallic will be unavailable to order for the 2023 Chevy Blazer until at least May of the 2023 calendar year.
Nitro Yellow Metallic is one of nine exterior color options for the 2023 Chevy Blazer. The rest of the 2023 Chevy Blazer paint option lineup includes:
- Black
- Blue Glow Metallic
- Iridescent Pearl Tricoat
- Nitro Yellow Metallic
- Red Hot
- Summit White
- Copper Bronze Metallic
- Radiant Red Tintcoat
- Sterling Gray Metallic
To note, Copper Bronze Metallic, Radiant Red Tintcoat, and Sterling Gray Metallic are all new additions for the 2023 model year. It’s also worth noting that Blue Glow Metallic has been built out for the remainder of the 2023 model year, as GM Authority exclusively covered last November.
As for the greasy bits under the hood, the 2023 Chevy Blazer is available with two powertrain options, including the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY gasoline engine and the naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 LGX gasoline engine. Both powertrains connect to the GM 9-speed automatic transmission, while the GM C1 platform provides the underpinnings. Production for the North American market takes place at the GM Ramos Arizpe plant in Mexico.

Buyers aren’t really feeling the vibe of the new facelift. The nose on the previous version was so much more sportier and aggressive looking. Plus, the new RS wheels (pictured) are so lackluster. Especially, in the overcrowded crossover market. The wheels would have looked better on an 80’s Beretta. From 20 feet you can’t really distinguish the current generation Blazer from the Trailblazer. Not good on a $50,000 vehicle. The 2019-2022 model was really kind of ground breaking for GM, in the crossover styling department. The RS, especially with the black 21” wheels, checked the boxes for buyers Chevrolet had not previously attracted. No real data yet but my previous Blazer buyers haven’t been inspired to purchase the current generation. They’re going to keep what they have and hope for the best in a couple of years or look elsewhere. The previous version stood out in a crowd. This one, is just a little too generic for the price point.
Cute little station wagon.
Ugly colour. No big lose!
