2023 Cadillac XT5 Wilder Metallic Paint No Longer Available To Order

The 2023 Cadillac XT5 has been losing several paint options as of late, including the Latte Metallic and Rosewood Metallic paint colors. Now, 2023 XT5 has lost a third color, this time the Wilder Metallic hue.

Sources close to the matter tell GM Authority that the Wilder Metallic (color code GED) paint color is no longer available for the 2023 XT5. Notably, this paint color will be built out after the week of March 20th, 2023.

Wilder Metallic was available across the entire trim lineup for an extra charge of $625. Additionally, it could be combined with all interior colorways:

  • Cirrus with Dark Titanium accents
  • Cirrus with Jet Black accents
  • Jet Black
  • Kona Brown Sauvage with Jet Black accents
  • Maple Sugar with Jet Black accents
  • Sedona Sauvage with Jet Black accents

It’s worth noting that Wilder Metallic was originally introduced on the 2021 Cadillac XT5. It’s currently unclear if the color will return for the 2024 model year.

As a reminder, the current 2023 Cadillac XT5 is mostly a carryover from the preceding 2022 model year. A few notable updates for the 2023 model year include the introduction of three new paint colors, while the Bose Performance 14-speaker stereo, embedded navigation and ambient lighting are all now standard on the Premium Luxury and Sport trim levels.

In regard to powertrain options, the 2023 XT5 is offered with two engine choices, including the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY gasoline engine, rated at 235 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, and the naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 LGX gasoline engine, rated at 310 horsepower and 271 pound-feet of torque. Regardless of powerplant option, the GM nine-speed automatic transmission is equipped as standard affair, while drivetrain options include either FWD or AWD.

Under the body panels, the XT5 rides on the GM C1 platform, while production takes place at the GM Spring Hill plant in Tennessee.

  1. In 2 years you won’t even be able to get the XT5 at all. What a shame. Just to cater to China and EV’s.
