The Cadillac brand is associated with a wide variety of specialty vehicles, from limousines, to armored vehicles – and even hearses. Now, “Addams Family” fans can get into the spirit with this custom 1950 Cadillac hearse, which is now available to rent on Turo.
For those readers who may be unaware, Turo is a car sharing marketplace offering a swath of vehicles for rent, from pickup trucks, to commuters, to high-end exotics – and yes, even this delightfully morbid Cadillac, which gives a nod to the new comedy horror show “Wednesday,” now available to stream on Netflix.
The Caddy was built by the folks at West Coast Customs, who added a number of ghoulish upgrades that perfectly fit the Addams Family theme. The exterior is covered in purple paint punctuated by bone-white trim and a lightning design along the rear fenders, with whitewall tires in the corners. There’s also red LED lighting in the grille and a vulture-shaped hood ornament, while the sideview mirrors are in the shape of bat wings.
Inside, you’ll find spider-shaped window coverings, while a set of bench seats were installed to more comfortably carry the living.
The vehicle listing, as written by the character Wednesday, states that this vehicle is equipped with a manual transmission, and that anyone who rents this Cadillac must “actually need to know how to drive.”
“Be warned if you ride the clutch or grind the gears our faithful driver, Lurch, will hunt you down,” the listing reads. “He’s a man of few grunts, but this vehicle is dear to his cold dead heart. So if you don’t want to wake up and find him scowling at the end of your bed, with a crowbar in one hand and a meathook in the other, be gentle.”
Looks like it could be quite the experience. If you’ve been dying to drive a classic Cadillac, then maybe this is your chance.
