The 2024 Chevy S10 Midnight Edition Debuts In Brazil

Last September, General Motors announced the launch of a new Chevy S10 variant as part of this year’s pickup truck onslaught in Brazil, and now, automaker has just officially revealed the new 2024 Chevy S10 Midnight edition in the South American country.

The 2024 Chevy S10 Midnight edition was revealed during an episode of Big Brother Brasil.

GM’s Brazilian subsidiary unveiled the all-new 2024 Chevy S10 Midnight edition for first time during a recent episode of Big Brother Brasil reality show, now in its 23rd season and one of the most successful and most watched programs in the country that Chevrolet sponsors for first time since it first aired in 1999. The 2024 S10 Midnight is the second model of brand’s aggressive strategy to reinforce its portfolio of pickups in local market of Brazil.

“This new special version of the S10 is in its final stages of development. All details and new features will be presented on the eve of the product’s arrival at Chevrolet’s dealership network,” said Marketing Director of GM Brazil, RogĂ©rio Sasaki. “The S10 Midnight will complement the midsize pickup range with a strategic role: bringing another consumer profile to the product, just as we have done recently with introduction of other versions,” he added.

The 2024 Chevy S10 Midnight’s debut represents the return of one of the most successful special editions of Chevrolet’s midsize pickup in the Brazilian market, after being first introduced for the 2018 model year. As such, the 2024 S10 Midnight is the last variant GM will release for the current third-generation model before the arrival of an all-new S10 next year.

Cosmetically, the 2024 Chevy S10 Midnight stands out with unique styling cues, such as the signature front grille and blacked-out wheels that give it a more striking appearance. In fact, the S10 Midnight combines elements of the LTZ and High Country trims, but in a single package that eliminates the roof rack and includes new black wheels, trim and logos, a full stabilizer bar, and blue LED daytime running lights.

Full details of the design and specific equipment of the new 2024 Chevy S10 Midnight edition will be revealed in the coming months as the official launch of the model in Brazil approaches, which is expected in the middle of this year. As usual, the S10 Midnight will only include aesthetic innovations and new technological features without any type of mechanical changes.

  1. Bring this small truck back to the U.S. as a Ford Maverick competition unless GM wants to abandon that market to Ford and the imports as it did with sedans and hybrids.

    1. I wish GM would offer this in the U.S. to compete against the Maverick. Not everyone wants a big, hard to maneuver pickup. It looks beautiful and would sell like hotcakes.

    2. It’s the same size as the Colorado, just with a slightly shorter wheelbase.

    3. I think you’re thinking of the Montana. The S10 is more Colorado size.

  4. This would be a great Maverick competitor here in the US with the right drive train options! Especially given that most here want a bigger small truck than the Montana.

    1. As I commented above, it’s the same size as the Colorado, just with a slightly shorter wheelbase. If you want a bigger small truck, what you want is the Colorado.

  5. I want one!

  6. By the comments here these folks have no clue about this truck as usual.

Note this is the Colorado of South America. Is is just within inches of the trucks e have now. They just have a slight shorter wheel base.

The Montana is the small truck and it is not as large as the Maverick but may cost more here as it is not made as cheap.

The Maverick is only sold out as Ford has limited sales. They only sold 74,370 units jn 2022. That is not a big number vs vehicles like a Nox e specially when ford is not making much per unit.

Note Ford is going broke fast. Unless they change things they could face some major issues.

That new battery plant is being built by China and Ford is just a Front.

    1. “Note Ford is going broke fast. Unless they change things they could face some major issues.”

But they have a TRX competitor, a Wrangler Competitor and a Mustang (that sold 48k units last year). All of which are on either unique platforms or heavily revised versions of another platform or vehicle which means the costs to create them are not cheap.

I just can’t help but laugh when people whine about GM not have a “Raptor fighter” or Wrangler fighter, well they are poor financial choices that why. They won’t sell like hot cakes, sales will struggle a few years after the new newness wears off and the hype dies down. As much as this car guy loves unique options and choices (two door Tahoe anyone or more cars and wagon versions?), I know they don’t sell and cost a bunch to create. Every little change needs a whole slew of legal and governmental reviews and tests to certify. Engine change, yup you gotta crash test that again, bumper deviation, come and lets chat about what you have to pay to get to the next level of approval, and so on.

GM is doing great right now and making good decisions, sure they aren’t living up to some of the car guys wants, but that isn’t what sells as they are in the minority of all sales.

      1. What many fail to register these high profile models are often to try to drive people into the show rooms to sell the other products not selling. GM did it going broke as they had the GMPD models. It did not stem the losses and they had to be bailed out.

Times are tough in the auto industry today and just building cool cars is not the way out. Most of these automakers need to focus on the core business and make money then play later.

The next 10 years will be pivotal for most MFGs and some will not survive.

GM is one of the few in a good spot and while boring I get it as profits mean more than being faster, number one in something or jumping farther.

I really question Fords move to F1. I am not sure GM is up to the task but I know Ford will bail after a couple years. They just don’t have the money.

  7. Considering the types of comments that always come up about the South American S10, I believe that certain readers do not know how to read or interpret a text or that they like to look like idiots on purpose!
It is always mentioned in publications and comments that the S10 is a pickup truck equivalent to the North American Colorado and yet many still insist on positioning it as a possible competitor with the Maverick.

  8. Some Brazilian media started publishing about the new Chevrolet S10.
Images caught a prototype of the S10 running in tests in a camouflaged way in the front and rear region. However, it is surprising that these prototypes are still using the bodywork of the current generation.
In this way, two questions arose: will the new generation have its development really shared with the new North American Colorado or will Chevrolet insist on cutting development costs?
If the American brand opts for the second option, the chances of losing market share are very high, especially in Brazil, which is its main market. Chevrolet has already lost the leadership of the category to Toyota Hilux a few years ago and considering the latest sales figures in the segment, it may lose second place to Ford with the new Ranger.

  9. We need a picture of all Chevy world wide trucks side by side to truly get the scale of them all. Then again they aren’t available everywhere. Curious I guess?

    1. A little common sense and reading comprehension covered all the questions.

People are just too lazy to read and learn when it is so easy just to complain.

  10. i would love a smaller truck (2 door, extend cab) with a regular sized bed. These smaller 4 door trucks with a very short bed are useless for those who need a regular size bed but do not want the larger trucks that have a high bed. My 1992 chevy s-10 ext cab was the perfect size with a bed low enough to fully reach items in the bed.

  11. Chevy Colorado. I still want my choice over a 4 cyl to the 6 cyl . Have owned a new 6 cyl wonderful running and performing motor with up to 30 mpg on the highway. Love the truck and it’s performances. Will not be buying the 4 cyl. More wear and tear and less longevity.

    1. j stodola??? do you have any issues with the 8 speed transmission with clunky shifting or gear hunting??? i understand it is an ongoing problematic issue that GM is having with a lot of Colorado and Canyons.

      1. I have a 2018 extended cab V6 and not had any problems with the transmission. I purchased it new, have 37,000 on it and no problems yet that I know of. The extended cab and box length are perfect for me. I use it a lot.
