Kyle Busch, owner of Truck Series team Kyle Busch Motorsports (KBM), announced that he will drive the No. 51 NASCAR Chevy Silverado race truck in five racing events throughout the 2023 season.
Busch will take control of the No. 51 Silverado at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on March 3rd, Circuit of the Americas on March 25th, Martinsville Speedway on April 14th, Kansas Speedway on May 6th and Pocono Raceway on July 22nd. Busch is currently the driver with the most Truck Series wins to his name in NASCAR history, amassing 62 victories in the division and winning at least one race in each of the last 10 seasons.
The No. 51 NASCAR Chevy Silverado will carry the colors of Zariz Transportation for Busch’s five races behind the wheel. The transportation company has also signed on to serve as primary sponsor on the No. 51 race truck for the remaining 18 races of the Truck Series season with other part-time racers behind the wheel. This sponsorship deal marks the first year of a multiyear contract between KBM and Zariz.
“I’m really excited to have Zariz as the primary sponsor on my No. 51 Silverado for my five races in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series in the coming years,” Busch said in a press release. “Samantha and I were introduced to Zariz through our foundation and immediately developed a great connection with them and we are honored that not only have they committed to the Truck Series sponsorship for multiple years, but they’ll also continue being the presenting sponsor of our Bundle of Joy Fund gala. We feel that introducing them to NASCAR consumers and people within the industry on the national stage through the Craftsman Truck Series makes perfect sense given the nature of their business and I can’t wait to make them a part of KBM’s winning tradition.”
In addition to the five-race schedule in the No. 51 Silverado, Busch will also compete full-time at the Cup Series level behind the wheel of the No. 8 Camaro ZL1. Busch was recently detained in Mexico due to firearm possession, but the incident does not seem likely to bar Busch from NASCAR competition this year.
