The 2023 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing stands out as one of the highest-performing production vehicles that Cadillac has ever made. To help advertise that fact, the CT5-V Blackwing recently got a new decklid badge, as featured in the following photos.
Prior to the inclusion of this new decklid badge, the rear end of the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing included the V-Series badge near the passenger-side taillight, which features a large “V” with a horizontal extension showing off a grid of gold, red, silver, blue, and black, the same colors seen in the Cadillac crest. The extension terminates in a right-leaning slash, and seems to suggest a multi-colored checkered flag mid-flight.
Now, however, the new decklid badge adds to this design by placing the word “Blackwing” directly underneath the V-Series badge. The Blackwing badge includes bold, black font, and is backed in silver, matching the V-Series badge above it. The new Blackwing badge also terminates in a right-leaning slash, following the same line established by the V-Series badge.
To note, the 2023 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing isn’t the only model to receive this new badging – the Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing will also carry the new designation. This is a notable change, as previously, the Blackwing sedans did not carry unique badging, despite their unique performance capabilities, per GM Authority coverage from March of 2021.
Critically, current Blackwing sedan owners have been contacted by GM notifying them of the new badging.
“You earned it!” GM’s message reads. “The CT4-V Blackwing / CT5-V Blackwing models will now carry the Blackwing designation beneath the V-Series badge on the rear decklid. We know how special your V-Series Blackwing is, the designation will make it stand out even more!”
Interested customers who would like to request a new Blackwing badge can do so by contacting the Cadillac Customer Care Center at 1-800-333-4223. Customers will be required to provide their VIN in order to receive their new badge.
As a reminder, the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing is motivated by the supercharged 6.2L V8 LT4 gasoline engine, and, like the CT4-V Blackwing, rides on the GM Alpha 2 platform. Both Blackwing sedans are produced at the GM Lansing Grand River plant in Michigan.

Lol.
Is that the best view of the car? I fully expected to see additional views.
But, all four photos taken from the passenger’s rear?
You do realize they are highlighting the new “blackwing” badge which can only be seen from this angle, right??
A quick glance I thought I was looking at an AMG logo. Colors too. Well, that 6.2L is nothing but brute force, an awesome engine.
But it is sad they did not have the guts to use the 5.5 Flat plane with turbos.
Guess mscibetta524 didn’t read the title of the article. The pictures show the new badge location on the car that they are so proud of.
Pretty sad pictures of the badge.
Agreed…I think my 1st cell phone in circa 2001 took higher res photos than what’s posted above…
it’s’ so woke it’s ugly,
You Americans with your ridiculous culture wars. The only culture that I see when I go to the US is in the yogurt aisle at Walmart. Lol
ewww, who shops at Wal Mart? For yogurt too?
LOL, I don’t think woke means what you think it means.
Exactly what part of a RWD, V8 car built in the USA and available with a manual transmission is “woke”? You can’t possibly be triggered by the badge, can you?
Looks like a VF x ZB Holden Commodore from the back, wouldlike to see a front view and see what it really lookslike. GM have also branded this the way Holden did with their HSV’S and other special vehicles. Couldn’t come up with a new branding on their own had to steal it from the Australian part of GM they stopped supporting.
Instead of playing around with badging, they should’ve fixed that horrendous C-pillar.
I love mindless random political trolling as much as the next guy, but that Lac is pretty tasty. American luxury muscle car! I love it!
