2022 Canyon

  • Elevation Standard – $30,480
  • Elevation – $35,480

The 2022 GMC Canyon was the eighth and final model year for the nameplate’s second generation, introducing only a handful of updates over the lightly updated 2021 model year. Changes for the 2022 model year notably included the addition of the Denali Black Edition package. In July, a mandatory three-year OnStar and Connected Services plan was added to Elevation, AT4, and Denali trim levels, bumping the price up by $1,500.

In November, GM applied yet another price increase to the 2022 GMC Canyon as production wrapped up in anticipation of the launch of the all-new, third-generation 2023 model year, making the 2022 Canyon now $400 more expensive on all trim levels.

In August, GM unveiled the all-new 2023 GMC Canyon as the fresh, third generation of the midsize pickup. Highlights include the first-ever 2023 GMC Canyon AT4X as the range-topper of the off-road lineup, along with revised exterior styling, an overhauled cabin, a new powertrain, and a range of tech goodies. The new truck is available in four trim levels: Elevation, Denali, AT4, and the aforementioned AT4X, offering an exclusive Edition 1 package, which sold out in just 10 minutes. All trims except the AT4X feature a factory two-inch suspension lift, enabling ground clearance of up to 9.6 inches, while a dedicated off-road performance display page in the infotainment system is standard.

The 2023 Canyon also gets a new tailgate-mounted storage compartment, plus new wheel designs up to 22 inches is size and new CoreTec seat material. Plus, it keeps the Denali Black Edition package.

The 2023 GMC Canyon AT4X features an extra one-inch lift over the rest of the line for a total of three inches, as well as standard 33-inch MT tires, Multimatic DSSV dampers, front and rear lockers, underbody skid plates, and an exclusive Baja drive mode for high-speed driving on the rough stuff. Inside, the Canyon AT4X includes an Obsidian Rush colorway with Ceramic White accents. The Edition 1 package mentioned earlier aims to make the new off-road-ready AT4X trim level even more appealing with a variety of exclusive off-road parts and components.

A 2023 GMC Canyon AT4X AEV Edition is still coming and will include a number of important upgrades over the standard, 2023 Canyon AT4X.

The 2023 GMC Canyon AT4 gets an optional Off-Road Lift Package to match the three-inch lift of the Canyon AT4X.

GM Authority has obtained exclusive details regarding pricing information for all trim levels of the 2023 GMC Canyon. The 2023 Canyon has a starting MSRP of $38,095 for the Elevation 2WD trim, including the $1,495 destination freight charge. Meanwhile, the range-topping AT4X Edition 1 starts at $64,845.

Production of the 2023 GMC Canyon started on January 24th at the GM Wentzville plant in Missouri, with the new AT4X trim set to roll off the line in the spring of 2023. The online configurator tool is live for the 2023 Canyon and still live for the 2022 Canyon.

  1. The 2023 GMC Canyon is made of unobtainium! My dealer did a quick order for me and I have yet to even see one.
How can you have a sale offer on a vehicle that ends Fe. 28th when ther aren’t any vehicles to buy or lease?
    Where are these vehicles?
By the time I get a ‘New” 2023 GMC Canyon it will be a year old. Funny – huh?

  2. While we wait for them maybe they could turn some of them into SUVs Envoy AT4 to compete with Jeep and Land Rover off roading would be a good competitor against them and still gain market share.

  3. That finance rate isn’t anything to get too excited about…my credit union beats that rate at 84 months. I’m not buying or financing one, so it doesn’t really matter, I was just surprised it wasn’t better.

    1. I doubt you can beat that rate at your credit union. I looked at 2 here in ohio and both are around 6.6. Maybe last year but not now.

      1. I just got a 4.64% APR quote for the month of Feb., however, they won’t quote me for March yet.

  4. And for 4 weeks, my AT4 order languishes at my dealer while he waits for an allocation from GM allowing him to place his order. He finally gets an allocation but tells me that if I drop the Technology Package” he can proceed with my order. Umm, “NO,” I actually want the technology package. WTH! I’m quickly losing interest in this purchase. And I just put new brakes on my 2011 Equinox that still runs perfectly fine. Only GM could spin the highs of a new vehicle that they knew they couldn’t produce.

    1. I’m wondering it they have more interest in these than they were expecting. I know a friend who just got a new Honda Crv and it was missing a few items from the package they got. So its not just GM having issues still with getting everything.

  5. This is just horrible. GM, do better. Your apr is ridiculous and these terms are downright making me want to turn in my 2022 z71 Colorado for a Tacoma. If this is how you are then Toyota here I come. My current apr is 2.1% with my credit union. DO BETTER

    1. Good luck with Toyota financing. You will not see even close to that rate you mentioned. I have been looking and watching for a year and a half now. I too want GM to do better, but this is not a manufacturing problem.

    2. Do you realize we are in the midst of a hyperinflation period and the feds have raised interest rates significantly to combat that. It simply costs more to borrow money. Elections have consequences.

  6. Wait did you see that lease payment on the 23 canyon, $666 per month with $666 down. I mean how do you get both the monthly payment and the down to that number let alone not change something, anyways….
