First Images Of 2023 Blacklake XT1 Chevy Silverado Revealed

Michigan-based aftermarket performance tuning company Blacklake just dropped a few new images of the 2023 Blacklake XT1 Chevy Silverado, a prerunner-style off-roader looking to challenge the Ford F-150 Raptor.

For those readers who may be unaware, Blacklake Research And Development originally got its start developing upgrades for the Lotus Evora sports car. However, the company quickly shifted gears to cater to GM enthusiasts instead, offering dirt-duty overhauls for The General’s truck lineup and giving rise to the Chevy Silverado-based Blacklake XT1.

The company has already offered up its XT1 enhancement for the pre-refresh Chevy Silverado 1500, adding in a custom five-link suspension setup in the rear, 3-inch double-adjustable coilovers for the front end, billet steel upper control arms, and aluminum lower control arms, blessing the pickup with 17.5 inches of suspension travel in the rear and 11.8 inches of suspension travel in front.

Upgrades were applied to the engine bay as well, with the Chevy Silverado’s 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine topped by a new supercharger to boost output to 650 horsepower. Muscle continues to be directed through GM 10-speed automatic transmission, while heavy-duty half shafts, 3.73 gears, a rear e-locker differential, and an upgraded steel driveshaft work to put it to the ground.

Now, the tuner has unveiled its latest progress in developing a new Blacklake XT1 upgrade for the refreshed Chevy Silverado 1500. Although these images appear to be renderings, rather than an actual IRL truck, it looks quite promising all the same.

The goodies start with a new widebody treatment that flares the fenders considerably, mixing nicely with a new front-end treatment that looks to provide considerably enhanced ground clearance. The bumper also looks like it has a winch attached, plus a pair of auxiliary lights to match. In the corners, we spot a set of Method 706 wheels, which are finished in black and come wrapped in some knobby rubber.

  1. That dark pastel grey color looks so nice. There’s a video with a C8 ERay with that same color, looks amazing.

  2. I’d rather have myself a ZR2 and put custom wheels and exhaust on it.

  3. Looks great all around. But I’m not clear: is this 2WD?

    1. All Pre Runner style trucks are 2wd. That’s part of the classification.

      1. I agree with you, but the fact that they call the Raptor a Pre-Runner tells me the term has lost it’s previous meaning. “a prerunner-style off-roader looking to challenge the Ford F-150 Raptor”

  5. If everything goes electric in 10 years, there won’t be enough electricity to power everything!
Gas, oil and diesel will be here forever so why not use it?
Most people doesn’t want EV’s and Democrats won’t be in power forever!!

  6. How about fulfilling the existing orders first. No matter how nice XT1 is , doesn’t mean much if you can’t get one built after ordering.
