GM has issued a service bulletin for a ventilated seat blower motor retrofit on three more Chevy products, including the Chevy Blazer, Chevy Silverado HD, and Chevy Tahoe. Previously, there were only two Chevy models that could receive the retrofit, the 2022/2023 Chevy Suburban and 2022/2023 Chevy Traverse.
The problem: affected units were built without ventilated seat blower motors, and can be identified by RPO code 04O. This constraint was due to the semiconductor chip shortage, where affected vehicles were built after March 30th, 2022.
The fix: certified GM technicians will be instructed to remove the non-functioning seat cushion ventilation blower and replace it with a functional unit. Some vehicles may also require the heated/ventilated seat retrofit performed beforehand. This program will be in effect until February 28th, 2026.
Affected components: ventilated seat blower motor.

Let’s see a video of how it’s done. I have had seat covers off and it’s not easy to get them looking perfect again.
My rear end thanks you.
I don’t think the seat covers/upholstery needs to be removed for this. The blower might be able to be accessed via the underside by just removing the seat and going underneath.
