The 2024 Chevy Silverado EV is set to launch soon, with the 3WT and 4WT trim levels scheduled to debut in Spring 2023, while the range-topping RST First Edition trim will follow later in Fall 2023. Although more Silverado EV variants will follow, GM has been tight-lipped about any major details. Now, the upcoming Chevy Silverado EV Trail Boss has just been teased in a recent GM / Netflix promotion.
Roughly halfway through the Super Bowl ad, we see a Chevy Silverado EV Trail Boss prominently displayed. We can tell that this is a Trail Boss due to the logo on the all-electric pickup truck’s sail panel. In addition, this is the first time we see any Silverado EV variant finished in Habanero Orange paint.
As of the time of this writing, GM has revealed no details concerning this tease.
As a reminder, GM has partnered with Netflix to feature GM EVs in a series of Netflix-produced shows and films, as well as Super Bowl ads. This partnership will feature electric vehicles like the Chevy Bolt EUV, GMC Hummer EV Pickup, and Cadillac Lyriq in the upcoming Netflix shows Love is Blind, Queer Eye, and Unstable, respectively. In addition, GM and Netflix will present new commercials starring comedian Will Ferrell during Super Bowl LVII on February 12th, 2023. This collaborative advertisement will serve to promote sustainability efforts at both companies.
“We want to make EVs famous on streaming, small and silver screens to build an EV culture through storytelling that incorporates the experiences of driving and owning an EV,” said GM Global Chief Marketing Officer, Deborah Wahl. “Netflix is a great partner because of the company’s compelling storytelling, commitment to sustainability and track record of sparking conversations that shape cultural trends.”

The ad is extremely silly.

Is the ad make me want to go and check out the GM EVs? The answer is NO.
That last comment sums it up PERFECTLY: “I’m glad you bit me too.” EV supporters are zombies. But we knew that before gm clarified it.
More people will have a negative response to Will Ferrell than not.
Good job GM, let’s continue to spend 100’s of millions advertising vehicles you can’t order yet. Hell this and the Equinox EV is all i see on TV and the Equinox isn’t even close. With GM’s failure to hit any date on the Hummer , i doubt we will see the Silverado until 2024
Spot on – They need to spend their limited resources on actual production, not commercials for vehicles with long waiting lists and ZERO production. Advertise the 411k cars you have on dealers lots.
There are mildly camouflaged photos just released by gm of the Equinox EV on the road being tested, so they are on track with getting that vehicle towards production soon. I live in Atlanta and I’ve seen Hummer EV’s out here on the street , yes those vehicles are currently limited in numbers nationwide, but they are out there.
you can see a lot more of the EV Silverado if you go see “A Man Called Otto”. They would have us believe that in 2022 Otto bought an EV Silverado and then gifted it to his neighbor upon death. I firmly believe Otto would not have been ok with the truck since it did not have a manual trans or and engine at all. but there are scenes of the interior and exterior if you manage to sit through the whole movie.
What are you talking about? Who is Otto?
I know the TFL guy’s Hummer EV has broken down multiple times. I hope GM gets the kinks worked out before releasing the silverado.
I think that’s why gm is going to switch to the batteries similar to what Tesla is using for their vehicles, which is what YouTube’s Electric Viking has been suggesting for the longest, those current LG Batteries come with a slew of issues.
GM wasting money on ads for EVs you can’t buy right now. Why is Mary still GM’s CEO??
They truly could have left all of that plastic trim strictly for the Work Truck based on what the price tag is probably going to be for this upcoming Trail Boss model, just an opinion.
The ad is okay but, as usual, GM leaves Buick out. Since they always seem to forget, it’s one of their brands; in fact, the brand around which the corporation was originally formed.
I watch Yellowstone and all the work on that show is being done by big Ram trucks. Of course it’s not a woke show, maybe that explains GM’ absence in the number one show.
Although Dodge is the #1 ranch truck by choice. Not saying it’s the right choice but they are.
Force feeding EV junk on the American public.
Go woke, go broke.
