Cadillac And Artnet Present ‘The Goddess’ Collection

Cadillac is collaborating with three renowned photographers and online art market Artnet to celebrate the return of the Cadillac Goddess with the all-new Cadillac Celestiq ultra-luxury EV, resulting in the creation of a curated series of commissioned photographic works called ‘The Goddess’ Collection. The works will be auctioned, with proceeds to benefit charity.

“Automotive design has always been rooted in the importance of an artistic vision to create an emotional response,” said executive director of Cadillac Design, Bryan Nesbitt. “That’s what this series celebrates, as the iconic Cadillac Goddess was originally conceived nearly a century ago as an artful representation of the brand’s spirit and has been reintroduced on the all-new Celestiq ultra-luxury EV.”

Prior to the introduction of the Cadillac Celstiq EV, the Cadillac Goddess previously appeared on the 1959 Cadillac Eldorado Brougham, as well as on the hoods of most Cadillac models between 1930 and 1956.

The Cadillac Goddess returned with the new Celestiq sedan, with the current design created by GM Design sculptor Richard Wiquist with inspiration taken from the 1933 Cadillac Goddess. The design can be found on the Celestiq’s front quarter panel trim piece and inside the rotary infotainment controller in the cabin.

Now, three artists are showing off their own interpretation of the Cadillac Goddess in a series of photographic work dubbed the ‘The Goddess’ Collection. The artists include Petra Collins, Ming Smith, and Dannielle Bowman. Their works are available online in a new auction hosted by Artnet, with all proceeds donated to Free Arts NYC, a non-profit organization focused on empowering youth from underserved communities through art and mentoring programs in order to develop creativity, confidence, and the skills for success.

The new images were revealed yesterday at a private show hosted by Cadillac, coinciding with activities around the Frieze Los Angeles international art fair. The works are available for bid now at Artnet.
