The Chevy Bel Air is one of the best-known nameplates in the Bow Tie brand’s long history, with enthusiasts churning out innumerable custom examples over the years, from luxurious street cruisers, to full-blown race cars, and everything in between. Now, however, we’re checking out something completely novel – a 2004 Chevy Tahoe customized to look just like a Chevy Bel Air. As a cherry on top, it’s even up for sale.
From the off, this 2004 Chevy Tahoe definitely captures a lot of the 1957 Chevy Bel Air. Let’s start with the front fascia, which combines elements of the classic Bel Air with those of the more modern SUV to create something utterly unique. The headlights are from the Tahoe, while the square mesh grille recalls the Bel Air. The trim bits are all done in chrome, while a chrome crossbar with large black rubber bumper bullets are mounted in the corners. The chrome bumper itself looks as though it is extended downwards, while fog lights and extra lighting in the upper crossbar are added as well. Don’t forget the Chevrolet script along the leading edge of the hood, or the iconic hood ornaments either.
The look continues into the flanks, where we find the traditional chrome trim line running down the fenders and doors. The sideview mirror caps are chromed out, and there are classic-looking six-spoke wheels in the corners, but all eyes will be on the large rear fins.
Finally, the whole thing is covered in green paint, which is matched with a white roof for a little extra contrast. Inside, there’s tan leather upholstery, while a V8 engine and automatic transmission provide the motivation. According to the vehicle listing, this Chevy Tahoe shows 49,766 miles on the clock.
Now, this custom 2004 Chevy Tahoe is listed for sale in Fort Myers, Florida by the Somerset Automotive Sales Network. Pricing is currently set at $29,998, which does not include the tax, tag, title, and $499 dealer fee.

I like it. Cars have been and were changed to fit the owner’s personality. Its a $50 billion-plus industry. My family has been at it since the 1800s and business is good.
I just want to know if it was acid or cannabis that induced that kind of… creativity? I see the intent and from the cowl back I can dig it but that front end… it’s like they lost the high when they got to the front end. That said.. it ain’t all bad.
Nice! But, WHY????? Too much time and money, as said earlier. The price can’t be anywhere near, what it cost to build thi. The early Tahoes are know for ABF problems as well as fuel pump and delivery problems. Best to stay away from this one. Unless you buy it, and make a lawn ornament out of it. Belair or not. This thing is something to stay away from.
I’ll start by saying the work looks beautiful and obviously a lot of money was put into it. However, this vehicle is a tough sell. I wouldn’t buy it if it was up for sale, however they’re probably is someone out there that loves this mashup of different styles and eras. I think black or red would have been better and then the green.

The A-pillars look like a 1961-62. Love or hate the dog leg from the wraparound windshields from 1955-60, it ruins the effect.
At first glance I thought it was cool. Then I took a real good look at it-proportions are all wrong-looks awful.

What most commentators don’t realize is that automotive restyling, like it or not, has been part of the auto industry since its birth. individualism such as this creation is not for everyone. People who build very unique cars have guts whereas people who drive boring-ass cars do not. I’ve owned some wild and crazy rides that advertised my business, that were fun and provoked those who will never understand true automotive individualism. Every weird vehicle I owned and built sold at a profit. Hell, even Harley Earl designed custom cars that were not for everyone plus he pushed for lowered cars. As a part of a family that has been in the vehicle customizing game since the 1800s, I appreciate people who do not follow the followers. Vehicles like this are part of the $50 Billion plus industry and altho it is not a mainstream restyling cue, it does bring growth and change in our great industry/hobby
I think it’s neat. Not something I would use as a daily driver but would be a cool weekend cruiser.
I have always said the fifties cars with big engine bays and tallish roofs would do well to have the body transplanted on a modern 4wd chassis., but I am not as keen with this partial attempt. no matter though, someone likes it and someone else will likely buy it and love it as well.
Looks better than some of the OEM attempts at modern retro ( looking at you Chevy SSR, Chrysler PT Cruiser, etc)
This something I was hoping was the result of someone with too much time and talent for photoshopping but unfortunately this is the result of someone with too much time, money, and actual talent in metal working. It’s definitely creative but not for me at all. Belongs in a parade or a circus but I wouldn’t even weekend cruise that thing.

collection. One of a kind custom, definitely cost more the asking price .

I think that it looks cool! modern mix with the 57 look, it’s about time they get creative.all cars look the same now days. look at the Chevy uplander. Buick, Pontiac, Saturn,they all had the same body look but different names.
they need to make this was trim option inside and out

this would cash in on the history of chevy but not brake the bank because your using the bones of today suburban or Tahoe. In addition, you could make a convertible version of both vehicles we have the room in the rear to drop the top and the structural integrity to make it work..
CADDY could go back to the El Dorado and the Deville with convertible versions using the frame suburban and Tahoe’s to bring out 1950 style style what’s 2023 technology
