The 2024 Chevy Silverado HD will include Wireless Phone Projection (RPO code PPW) for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto standard across all trim levels, GM Authority has learned. The feature will be standard across both 2500 HD and 3500 HD series trucks.
As a reminder, the Work Truck (WT) and Custom trim levels of the 2024 Chevy Silverado HD are equipped with the Chevrolet Infotainment 3 system (RPO code IOR) with a seven-inch touchscreen.
Meanwhile. the LT, LTZ, and range-topping High Country trims are outfitted with the Chevrolet Infotainment 3 Premium system (RPO code IOK) with Google built in. These trim levels of the Chevy Silverado HD come standard with a 13.4-inch touchscreen.
Making wireless phone projection for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto standard across all trim levels of the 2024 Chevy Silverado HD is a significant change from the 2023 model year. On the 2023 Silverado HD, wireless phone projection availability was based on trim level as follows:
- Work Truck (WT): not available
- Custom: not available
- LT: available only as part of the Convenience Package II (RPO code PCM) or the Advanced Trailing Package (ZL6)
- LTZ: standard
- High Country: standard
The General is making other changes to the Chevy Silverado HD for the 2024 model year, reducing or eliminating some features and making others, previously optional or absent on some trims, standard.
These changes are part of the truck’s mid-cycle refresh. The 2024 Chevy Silverado HD receives a revised front fascia with new headlights for a more aggressive, modernized look. Inside, the 2024 model year features a fully overhauled cockpit for LT, LTZ, and High Country trims, including a new 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster and a new center stack with the 13.4-inch touchscreen already mentioned.
The 2024 Chevy Silverado HD will have reduced 12-volt outlet availability. The front auxiliary power outlet (RPO code KC5) will remain standard on WT and Custom trucks, but will be omitted from all trucks of the LT, LTZ, and High Country trim levels, while the rear auxiliary 12-volt outlet (RPO code KPA) is removed from all trims.
The refreshed Chevy Silverado HD gets several new standard and optional features. Automatic Emergency Braking is now equipped as standard across all trim levels. GM will also make Adaptive Cruise Control (RPO code KSG) available either as a standalone option or as part of several options packages depending on trim.
Finally, the Z71 Off-Road Package (RPO code Z71) will be available for the Custom trim for the first time, whereas it was previously available only on the other trim levels (WT, LT, LTZ, and High Country).
As a reminder, orders opened for the 2024 Chevy Silverado HD on January 19th. Pricing starts at $45,295 MSRP for a 2WD 2500 HD WT and ranges up to $75,995 MSRP for a 4WD 3500 HD High Country with a crew cab, long bed, and dual rear wheel (DRW) configuration.

I’m sorry, I don’t know what they are and don’t care.
My 22 AT4 HD has wireless car play.
To each their own, but I personally dislike the wireless car play system. So does a co-worker with his BMW. Here’s what I’d say you need to look for: First, it’s just not as reliable as the wired. Second, it drains your phone battery really fast and the phone tends to get quite hot. This causes you to have to plug the phone in anyhow (unless you have the wireless charger too). Even then, the phone tends to discharge faster than the wireless charger puts back in. Lastly, you must keep your phone’s WiFi turned on. So unless you belly up and pay for the WiFi in your car, your phone then constantly searches for a WiFi network. HINT: This is in part why it’s not as reliable and why your battery drains so fast.
So unless you pay extra for the in-car WiFi and have the built in wireless charger, then just plug in with the USB cord. You will be much happier. I learned this with my Malibu I had and again with the Bolt I now have. Same with my co-worker and his 3 series BMW.
Hi
