As a brief refresher, the 2024 Chevy Silverado HD receives a mid-cycle refresh that features revised exterior styling, an overhauled cockpit, powertrain enhancements, and more.
Under the hood, the 2024 Silverado HD utilizes the 6.6L L8T V8 gasoline engine as standard fare, while the 6.6L V8 L5P turbodiesel Duramax engine is optional. The Duramax boasts 470 horsepower and 975 pound-feet of torque, up by 25 horsepower and a 65 pound-feet over the pre-refreshed models.
Regardless of engine choice, every Chevy Silverado HD runs the Allison-branded 10-speed automatic transmission as standard, which replaces the GM six-speed equipped by gasoline-powered models previously.
Under the skin, the Silverado HD rides on a more capable version of the GM T1 platform, while production takes place at the GM Flint plant in Michigan and GM Oshawa plant in Canada. In regards to pricing, a 2500 HD WT RWD truck in Regular Cab Long Bed configuration has a starting MSRP of $45,295, including a destination freight charge of $1,895.

I love the truck but I would want the step so I suppose I would have to go aftermarket.
I can’t even order a 24 HD. All dealers are on allocation only. I’m waiting for the allocation to come in to my dealer. Who knows when that’ll be! GM let’s go get your $hit together!
Both plants have been running at full production for some time now. Flint is running 3 shifts.
What is your source? I placed my order 1-13, the day after orders opened. But dealer says they haven’t started building yet, and even then only white and black.
Flint doesnt go into full 2024 production until Feb 27th. They have built a couple of small runs of 24’s but most are still in validation or waiting to ship.
Nothing will happen until your dealer has units allocated to them and even then the line is still pretty long since there are many that had 23’s ordered but didnt get built.
I ordered a 2023 and now had to update the order to a 2024 (original order June of 2022). I have been told don’t expect is anytime soon yet as GM is a crap shoot with supply delays, labor shortages, etc. Would love to have my truck so I can pull the trailers to haul our animals!!!
Oshawa has been down for 8 days due to parts
are they building 2024 2500hd ltz now .
Wish Chevrolet would update their website so we could build these online.
I order 2500hd LTZ still waiting now going to be 2024 15 months soon 16 months hasn’t been picked to build yet let’s go GM
The steps are the only thing holding my order up. sucks. hopefully they correct it soon.
These steps are dealer installed accessories. They should build and send without them. Put them on later. I’m thinking of ordering an LTZ w/power-retractable steps and buy the fist one built.
