The 2023 GMC Terrain adds three new exterior colors to its palette: Sterling Metallic, Volcanic Red Tintcoat, and Deep Bronze Metallic. Here’s our first look at the new Deep Bronze hue.
Assigned RPO code GXN and touch-up paint code WA-135H, Deep Bronze Metallic is one of eight exterior colors offered on the compact crossover, which include:
- White Frost Tricoat
- Summit White
- Ebony Twilight Metallic
- Marine Metallic
- Desert Sand Metallic
- Deep Bronze Metallic (new for 2023)
- Sterling Metallic (new for 2023)
- Volcanic Red Tintcoat (new for 2023)
The Deep Bronze Metallic color is an extra-cost option that adds an additional $495 to the vehicle’s price. It can only available on the Denali trim level and can only be combined with these two interior colorways:
- Jet Black
- Light Platinum/Dark Galvanized
For reference, here are the three available interior colorways offered on the 2023 Terrain:
- Jet Black (all trims)
- Medium Ash Gray/Jet Black (SLE and SLT only)
- Light Platinum/Dark Galvanized (Denali only)
The 2023 GMC Terrain introduces a few critical changes and updates as compared to the fully refreshed 2022 GMC Terrain. Some of the headlining updates include a new engine, which is the new turbocharged 1.5L I4 LSD gasoline engine, along with an e-boost braking system. The changes were accompanied by a price increase.
Like all units of the second-generation Terrain, the 2023 Terrain rides on the GM D2 platform. The LSD engine, the only powertrain offered in the vehicle, is rated at 175 horsepower and 203 pound-feet of torque. It’s paired with the GM nine-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel-drive is standard, with all-wheel-drive optional on SLE and SLT trim levels and standard on AT4 and Denali.
Production for the 2023 Terrain commenced at the GM San Luis Potosí plant in Mexico on August 22nd, 2022. The online configurator tool is now live for the 2023 Terrain.

Should be available on the lower trims, like it is on the Equinox. Equinox RS looks good in this color.
I hope it’s not as greenish in person as it looks here. It looked chocolate in a photo I’ve seen, and I really liked it, but greenish-brown is putrid.
Yup, it is an intense milk chocolate color, I see no green in it, in person in the sun.
There’s nothing new about this color. It’s basically the regurgitated Zeus Bronze Metallic from the first edition Corvette C8 – and it was an absolute failure then as well.
My cat throws up puke that color when it eats a rabbit
That’s Spring Puddle Brown. Still, it’s best than Old Sludge Gray that’s on way too many new vehicles.
Poo and Chrome, Perfect!
