2023 Chevy Traverse Heated And Ventilated Seats No Longer Under Constraint

The 2023 Chevy Traverse serves as the sixth model year for the second-generation crossover, introducing a few updates and changes over the fully refreshed 2022 model year. Now, GM Authority has learned that a constraint on the heated and ventilated seats features for the 2023 Chevy Traverse has been lifted.

According to GM Authority sources, the Heated front seats (RPO code KA1) and Ventilated front seats (RPO code KU9) features for the 2023 Chevy Traverse are no longer under constraint. Previously, from the start of production for the 2023 model year until now, vehicles normally equipped with these features were built without them, with the exception of the High Country trim level which was unaffected by the constraints. Models affected by the constraints are indicated as such by RPO code 00V listed on the vehicle window sticker.

The Heated front seats feature is normally included and only available for the 2023 Chevy Traverse LT Cloth trim level via the Convenience and Driver Confidence Package (RPO code ZL3), while the feature is normally included as standard on LT Leather, RS, Premier, and High Country trims. The feature is not available at all for the LS trim level.

Meanwhile, the Ventilated front seats feature is normally included as standard on Premier and High Country trim levels, and not offered at all for LS, LT Cloth, LT Leather, or RS trim levels.

Critically, the 2023 Chevy Traverse is still affected by a constraint on the front ventilated seat cushion blower motor, as a well a constraint on the heated rear outboard seats feature. Affected units are identified as such by RPO code 04O and RPO code 00R, respectively, on the vehicle window sticker. Some units are also under constraint for the Rear Park Assist feature (RPO code UD7), as indicated by either RPO code 00V or 04O on the window sticker.

With regard to all of the constraints listed above, dealer retrofits for these features will be available at a later time. In fact, some of these retrofits are already under way.

As a reminder, the 2023 Chevy Traverse cradles the naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 LFY gasoline engine, while under the skin, the crossover rides on the long-wheelbase variant of the GM C1 platform. Production takes place at the GM Lansing Delta Township plant in Michigan.
