After presenting an advertising campaign earlier this month that anticipated the imminent arrival of the model to the South American country, General Motors has just officially launched the 2023 Chevy Silverado in Colombia.
The official launch of the 2023 Chevy Silverado 1500 in Colombia took place on February 23rd during a special media event, where the automaker’s local subsidiary introduced Chevrolet‘s refreshed full-size pickup to the Colombian public for the first time. After a notable absence, the Silverado returns to the country in Trail Boss Z71 trim, designed for off-road lovers looking for comfort, power and connectivity.
“The new Silverado Trail Boss Z71 reflects Chevrolet’s commitment to meeting the needs of adventure, touring and sports car consumers,” said Chevrolet Brand Manager SUVs and Pickups at GM Colombia, Álvaro Zagal, in a statement. “In short, with the new Silverado, customers will enjoy the elegance, power and high technology of pickup trucks,” he added.
Just as GM had already anticipated, the 2023 Chevy Silverado arrives in Colombia with the exact same Crew Cab configuration, powertrain, and Trail Boss Z71 trim level that the pickup launched with last month in Ecuador. The only version of 2023 Silverado for the Colombian market is equipped with the 5.3L V8 L84 engine that develops 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque, along with GM’s 10-speed automatic transmission and standard 4WD.
The aggressive, off-road-ready exterior package of the 2023 Chevy Silverado Trail Boss Z71 is matched by a refined, high-tech interior featuring a digital instrument cluster and a 13.4-inch multimedia display with Google built-in. In addition, the 2023 Silverado has the most comprehensive safety package in the segment with the brand’s driver assistance systems and Surround Vision Camera.
The new 2023 Chevy Silverado Trail Boss Z71 is now available for sale throughout the official Chevrolet dealer network in Colombia, with a choice of four paint colors and a 5-year/100,000-km (62,137-mile) warranty. Silverado units for this and the other current South American markets come from the GM Silao plant in Mexico. Pricing starts at 275,120,000 pesos, about $56,500 USD at the current exchange rate.

That’s great! They can’t even meet demand for the Trail Boss in the USA.
How about satisfying the Canadian and US markets first
