2023 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing Gets New Maverick Noir Frost Color: First Look

The 2023 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing adds four new exterior colors to its palette: Radiant Red Tintcoat, Argent Silver Metallic, Midnight Steel Metallic, and Maverick Noir Frost. Here’s our first look at the new Frost hue.

Assigned RPO code GNW and touch-up paint code WA-151H, Maverick Noir Frost is one of 10 exterior colors offered on this high-performance variant of the CT5 luxury sedan, which include:

  • Summit White
  • Black Raven
  • Blaze Orange Metallic
  • Wave Metallic
  • Electric Blue
  • Rift Metallic
  • Radiant Red Tintcoat (new for 2023)
  • Argent Silver Metallic (new for 2023)
  • Midnight Steel Metallic (new for 2023)
  • Maverick Noir Frost (new for 2023)

The Maverick Noir Frost color is a limited-edition flat black hue that adds a whopping $8,120 to the price of the luxury sedan and can be combined with all interior colorways.

For reference, here are all three available interior colorways offered on the 2023 CT5-V Blackwing:

  • Jet Black with Jet Black accents
  • Natural Tan with Jet Black accents
  • Sky Cool Gray with Jet Black accents

The 2023 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing arrives with just a handful of changes and updates over the 2022 model, including a new Driver Assist Package as standard and an optional Bronze Accent Package. The most notable changes include the addition of the vaunted GM Super Cruise semi-autonomous driver assist system to the options list, which was previously unavailable on the Blackwing. It also gets a new standard vehicle wrap as an alternative to the available enclosed shipping carrier option. Moreover, the 2023 CT5-V Blackwing comes in a new 120th Anniversary Edition to commemorate the founding of the luxury marque in 1902. The release of the special edition follows last year’s Collector Series, which stands apart from the rest of the lineup as the first 250 CT5-V Blackwing units produced.

The 2023 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing is powered by the supercharged 6.2L V8 LT4, rated at 668 horsepower and 659 pound-feet of torque. The GM six-speed manual transmission is standard, while the 10-speed auto is optional – both exclusively feeding the rear wheels.

Car and Driver named the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing to its 2023 10Best cars list. “The Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing is the greatest sports sedan on sale today,” the editors proclaimed, “if not of all time.”

The Cadillac CT5 rides on the GM Alpha 2 platform, which is shared with the Cadillac CT4. Production kicked off at the GM Lansing Grand River plant on July 18th, 2022. Production of the 2024 model year will start on July 10th, 2023.

  4. Stupid pricing. Could get regular black and have matte PPF installed on entire car for less $…achieving the same look while being protected from chips / abrasions. In fairness, PPF won’t last the life of the car, but they are getting ~10 yrs now with proper care.
Regarding pricing and overall customer treatment, it seems to me that the manufacturers are all getting really big balls with the current economic conditions that favor them, pushing up avg transaction pricing while apparently forgetting or ignoring that the market is cyclic. Next time they hit hard times, many of us won’t feel sorry for them in the slightest.

  5. So over 8 grand to have an ugly color that looks like they forgot to apply clear coat and that requires special care when washing and waxing. Boy there sure are a lot of born suckers in the world!
