The 2023 calendar year is set to be a big year for Chevy, and GM as a whole. So, in order to get an idea on what to expect from the Bow Tie brand this year, here’s a breakdown for all the refreshed, redesigned and all-new Chevy products that will be chronologically introduced in the United States and Canada during the 2023 calendar year.
First up is the introduction of the all-new Chevy Colorado. As the third generation of the midsize pickup truck, the 2023 Colorado is set to kick off production on January 25th 2023 at the GM Wentzville plant in Missouri. At launch, GM expects the sales mix among the four trims to be fairly even:
- 20 percent will consist of the Work Truck (WT)
- 32 percent will consist of the LT
- 25 percent will consist of the Trail Boss
- 23 percent will consist of the Z71
The order books for the 2023 Chevy Tahoe RST Performance Edition opened in late 2022, and the first units should land in early 2023. Shoppers can also configure a Tahoe RST Performance Edition on Chevy’s website.
Though it won’t be sold in the United States, the all-new Chevy Montana is worth mentioning here, as it’s a significant vehicle for the South American market. It debuted in December 2022 and will go on sale in February in Brazil, followed by other surrounding markets, and boasts bigger exterior dimensions, a much more modern interior as well as innovative features compared to the previous-generation Montana.
Next up is the debut of the second-generation Chevy Trax. As GM’s entry level crossover, the 2024 Trax is scheduled to commence production in February 2023. GM President Mark Russ is particularly excited for the upcoming Trax, calling it the “finest entry-level Chevrolet” in many years.
Also scheduled to begin production in February 2023 is the mid-cycle refresh of the Silverado HD lineup. With assembly set to take place at the GM Flint Assembly plant in Michigan and the GM Oshawa plant in Canada, the refreshed 2024 Silverado HD will feature revised exterior styling, an overhauled cockpit, powertrain enhancements, and more.
The Chevy Silverado EV is set to broaden GM’s electric pickup portfolio, and production of the 3WT and 4WT trims will begin during the Spring 2023 timeframe. Production will commence at the GM Factory Zero plant, previously known as the Detroit-Hamtramck plant, in Michigan, while pricing will begin at $72,905 – including the $1,895 destination freight charge – for a 2024 Chevy Silverado EV outfitted in the 3WT trim level.
Expected to begin production after the “regular” 2023 Colorado trim levels, the Colorado ZR2 will launch in April 2023. Poised as the “Desert Runner” model with the available special-edition ZR2 Desert Boss package, the ZR2 trim will sit atop the 2023 Colorado model lineup.
Further expanding upon the C8 Corvette‘s lineup, the C8 E-Ray is expected to make its debut sometime during Spring 2023. As the first electric / AWD variant of Chevy Corvette, the upcoming E-Ray will be positioned as an indirect successor to the Corvette Grand Sport. The C8 Corvette ZR1 is expected to appear sometime in 2024.
Moving onto the summer of 2023, the all-electric 2024 Chevy Blazer EV is set to launch in two trim levels, 2LT and RS. Pricing for these models will start at $47,595 and $51,995, respectively, before DFC. The 2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV SS will follow later, with starting MSRP of $65,995.
Moving onto Fall 2023, the Chevy Camaro is set begin its final model year in its current form. The 2024 Camaro will introduce a special farewell package, likely named the Heritage Edition, to commemorate the end of the sixth-generation Camaro’s production. Development of the seventh-generation Camaro has been terminated, throwing the future of the nameplate into doubt.
Following the reveal of the refreshed 2024 Silverado HD lineup, GM teased the arrival of an off-road focused Silverado HD ZR2. Taking inspiration from the light-duty Silverado ZR2, the upcoming 2024 Silverado HD ZR2 is expected to arrive later in the 2023 model year, likely in the fall.
Also following models introduced earlier in the 2023 calendar year, another Silverado EV variant will be released, the Silverado EV RST First Edition. Set to kick off production during Fall 2023, reservations for this range-topping model were filled in 12 minutes. More variants are to follow in the 2024 calendar year.
Once again following the launch of other variants, the 2024 Chevy Blazer SS is set to debut in the fall of 2023. With a starting price of around $65,995, this high-performance Blazer EV variant will be produced at the GM Ramos Arizpe plant in Mexico.
The 2024 Chevy Equinox EV will also appear in the fall of 2023. However, only a limited-edition 2RS variant of the fully electric crossover will be offered during the 2023 calendar year, as all other trim levels will launch in 2024.
Later on in the 2023 calendar year, the Chevy Suburban is set to introduce a mid-cycle refresh. Currently in its twelfth-generation, the refreshed 2024 Suburban presently has production start scheduled for November 2023 at the GM Arlington plant in Texas.
Just like the larger Suburban, the mid-cycle refresh of the Chevy Tahoe is scheduled to kick off in November 2023 at the GM Arlington plant in Texas. The refreshed 2024 Chevy Tahoe will bring updates to both the interior and the exterior of the full-size SUV.
Finally, the third-generation Chevy Traverse is expected to commence production in December 2023. The all-new 2024 Traverse is expected to continue to ride on the GM C1 platform, while production will take place at the GM Lansing Delta Township plant in Michigan.
