What To Expect From Chevy In 2023

The 2023 calendar year is set to be a big year for Chevy, and GM as a whole. So, in order to get an idea on what to expect from the Bow Tie brand this year, here’s a breakdown for all the refreshed, redesigned and all-new Chevy products that will be chronologically introduced in the United States and Canada during the 2023 calendar year.

Early 2023

2023 Chevy Colorado.

2023 Chevy Colorado

First up is the introduction of the all-new Chevy Colorado. As the third generation of the midsize pickup truck, the 2023 Colorado is set to kick off production on January 25th 2023 at the GM Wentzville plant in Missouri. At launch, GM expects the sales mix among the four trims to be fairly even:

  • 20 percent will consist of the Work Truck (WT)
  • 32 percent will consist of the LT
  • 25 percent will consist of the Trail Boss
  • 23 percent will consist of the Z71

2023 Chevy Tahoe RST Performance Edition

The order books for the 2023 Chevy Tahoe RST Performance Edition opened in late 2022, and the first units should land in early 2023. Shoppers can also configure a Tahoe RST Performance Edition on Chevy’s website.

Though it won’t be sold in the United States, the all-new Chevy Montana is worth mentioning here, as it’s a significant vehicle for the South American market. It debuted in December 2022 and will go on sale in February in Brazil, followed by other surrounding markets, and boasts bigger exterior dimensions, a much more modern interior as well as innovative features compared to the previous-generation Montana.

Spring 2023

Next up is the debut of the second-generation Chevy Trax. As GM’s entry level crossover, the 2024 Trax is scheduled to commence production in February 2023. GM President Mark Russ is particularly excited for the upcoming Trax, calling it the “finest entry-level Chevrolet” in many years.

2024 Chevy Silverado HD.

Also scheduled to begin production in February 2023 is the mid-cycle refresh of the Silverado HD lineup. With assembly set to take place at the GM Flint Assembly plant in Michigan and the GM Oshawa plant in Canada, the refreshed 2024 Silverado HD will feature revised exterior styling, an overhauled cockpit, powertrain enhancements, and more.

The Chevy Silverado EV is set to broaden GM’s electric pickup portfolio, and production of the 3WT and 4WT trims will begin during the Spring 2023 timeframe. Production will commence at the GM Factory Zero plant, previously known as the Detroit-Hamtramck plant, in Michigan, while pricing will begin at $74,800 – including the $1,895 destination freight charge – for a 2024 Chevy Silverado EV outfitted in the 3WT trim level.

Expected to begin production after the “regular” 2023 Colorado trim levels, the Colorado ZR2 will launch in April 2023. Poised as the “Desert Runner” model with the available special-edition ZR2 Desert Boss package, the ZR2 trim will sit atop the 2023 Colorado model lineup.

Further expanding upon the C8 Corvette‘s lineup, the C8 E-Ray is expected to make its debut sometime during Spring 2023. As the first electric / AWD variant of Chevy Corvette, the upcoming E-Ray will be positioned as an indirect successor to the Corvette Grand Sport. The C8 Corvette ZR1 is expected to appear sometime in 2024.

  1. I expect a larger inventory and bigger discounts due to the rise of interest rates. It’s going to be a rough year for the auto industry. Also I expect a lot of vehicles to be repossessed because so many people are going to be so upside down due to them paying exorbitant mark ups.

  2. Didn’t see the Equinox EV listed.

    1. Came to ask the same.

    2. The Equinox EV will arrive in the fall of 2023, but only in a limited-edition 2RS trim. The rest of the lineup will launch in 2024. The article was been updated accordingly. Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

  3. I expect plants will shut and inventories will not grow too much. They are already suppressing stock now.

Still may see incentives but they want you to order now.

Still will be a tough few years.

    1. WE have been installing them right left and center! Better get you dealer on it, the parts are available now.

    2. The chips for the Heated Seats are VIN-specific. Call your local Chevy Dealer’s Service Department and give the Service Advisor your VIN. He can look it up to see if the chip is available.

  7. Any bets on when the first previously promised 40K ish EV Silverado will happen? If ever? I understand they have banked that price on commodity of scale price declines on the major components, but I am not so sure they will ever get to that point for GM. Buyers lock in pricing contracts for the majority of the planned output way up front usually.

  8. I was kinda hoping that GM would be picking up the pace of building and delivering the 2023 Silverados that have been ordered in the past few months. I ordered a High Country with Max Towing and Technology Packages at the beginning of December, and GM hasn’t yet committed to building it. (Or at least they haven’t kept me in the loop).

  9. I’m a Camaro ZL1 person interested in a Heritage Edition which might be offered at the end of the model…literally. Anybody have info on the aforementioned vehicle?
