The new Corvette Z06 GT3.R turn-key race car will get its big reveal in two weeks on Friday, January 27th.
The reveal date was announced in a recent teaser video, which shows the Corvette Z06 GT3.R undergoing testing at Sebring International Raceway in Florida, including shots of it in the pits and out on track as the Corvette Racing puts it through its paces.
The Corvette Z06 GT3.R will apparently debut at Daytona International Speedway in conjunction with the Rolex 24 At Daytona, set to take place that same weekend. Notably, Cadillac will also be there for the competition debut of the new Cadillac V-LMDh race car, which just unveiled its new liveries.
GM announced the new Corvette Z06 GT3.R in November of the 2021 calendar year. Built to global GT3 regulations, the Corvette Z06 GT3.R provides customer teams with an opportunity to compete in a variety of global racing series, including the IMSA WeatherTech Championship, Fanatec GT World Challenge, and Intercontinental GT Challenge. To note, the Corvette Z06 GT3.R differs from the factory-backed Corvette C8.R, the latter of which is not available for purchase.
The Corvette Z06 GT3.R is closely related to the street-going C8 Corvette Z06, with both machines sharing the same aluminum chassis and naturally aspirated 5.5L V8 LT6 engine, plus similar aerodynamic features as well. Of course, the racing machine is also extensively modified for competition use. Notably, the majority of Corvette’s rivals already offer a customer GT3 race car for purchase, including Audi, BMW, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche, and others.
Development and testing for the Corvette Z06 GT3.R has been ongoing since late 2021, with the Corvette Racing team focused on making the racer not only competitive, but driver-friendly as well. The Corvette Z06 GT3.R will get its official competition debut in the 2024 calendar year.

It will be interesting to see how the LT6 engine holds up to racing conditions.
Thank you for the update on Corvette Racing. Keep them coming.
Would like to see GM offer that paint scheme as an option on the Z06!
My 2016 Z06 has 650 hp /650 ft pounds. And it keeps running. And it looks like a Vette, not a poor boys lambo.
