Chevy Trax Running At 20 Days Supply In January 2023

National U.S. inventory for the Chevy Trax was running at a 20 days supply in the beginning of January 2023, GM Authority has learned from sources familiar with the matter.

Dealerships had 1,441 units of the subcompact crossover on the ground as of January 1st. The 2022 Chevy Trax is out of production, so no additional units are in transit at the moment.

The Chevy Trax was running on a 20 days supply as of the beginning of January 2023.

2022 Chevy Trax

Supply of the Chevy Trax is down somewhat compared to November 2022, when U.S. dealerships had a 22 days supply on the ground. The crossover had a 16 days supply in October 2022, up from a low of 9 days supply in August.

To put these metrics in perspective, a 60 days supply was considered optimal in the U.S. auto industry before the COVID-19 pandemic and the global supply shortage.

In March 2022, GM Authority exclusively reported that General Motors was dropping the outgoing-generation Chevy Trax crossover from its lineup after the 2022 model year. Adhering to this plan, the automaker ended 2022 Chevy Trax production on November 30th, 2022 at the GM Bupyeong plant located in Incheon, South Korea.

U.S. sales numbers for mainstream subcompact crossovers fell sharply for most makes and models, with the exception of strong gains for the Jeep Compass and a few others. Sales declined 17 percent for subcompact crossovers overall, but sales numbers for the Chevy Trax fell even more, dropping 37.5 percent compared to 2021.
