Chevy Bolt EV Discount Offers $5,000 Off In January 2023

In January 2023, a Chevy Bolt EV discount offers a substantial $5,000 off the 2022 Chevy Bolt EV, which retroactively applies to any Bolt EV purchase made in 2022. The 2023 Chevy Bolt EV receives the discount as a price drop. However, the discount and price drop was formerly $5,900, respectively. See details below.

In addition, low-interest financing is now no longer available on the all-electric subcompact crossover.

The Bow Tie brand does continue to offer a national lease on the 2022 Bolt EV 1LT for $269 per month for 36 months, and on the 2023 Bolt EV 1LT for $299 per month for 36 months, for current lessees of a 2018 model year or newer vehicle.

Chevy Bolt EV Pricing

For reference, here are the 2022 and 2023 Chevy Bolt EV trim levels with their corresponding starting MSRPs, $995 destination freight charge included:

2022 Bolt EV

  • 1LT – $32,495
  • 2LT – $35,695

2023 Bolt EV

  • 1LT – $27,495
  • 2LT – $30,695

The 2022 Chevy Bolt EV received an updated exterior and interior design and was joined by a new, larger sibling, the 2022 Chevy Bolt EUV.

Like the Bolt EUV, the Bolt EV also rides on the GM BEV2 platform and utilizes the same single-drive electric motor, which produces 200 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque, fed by the 65 kWh lithium-ion battery, which provides 250 miles of range per charge.

The 2023 Chevy Bolt EV gets a new illuminated charge port as a standalone option. The 2023 Bolt EV also introduces a new exterior paint lineup, with Radiant Red Tintcoat joining the list as a replacement for the outgoing Cherry Red Metallic paint color.

Last month, the Chevy Bolt EV received the 2023 U.S. ALG Residual Value Award along with two more models from GM, namely the 2023 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD and 2023 GMC Hummer EV Pickup. In addition, Domino’s announced it was adding 800 Chevy Bolt EV delivery vehicles to its fleet.

In December, we reported that the 2023 Chevy Bolt EV is a steal with the full EV tax credit, when it’s implemented. That may be in spite of a $900 price increase in January on the 2023 Bolt EV. Consequently, the previously matching $5,900 discount on the 2022 Bolt EV has been reduced accordingly to $5,000.

GM is planning to build 70,000 new Chevy Bolts this year. The automaker will boost Bolt production for global markets to 70,000 units in 2023 from roughly 44,000 units for 2022. Also, EV fans can now drive one of five of Chevy electric vehicles in the marque’s new “Charged Up” mobile game, including the Bolt EV.

Production for the 2023 Chevy Bolt EV began at the GM Lake Orion plant in Michigan on July 26th, 2022. The online configurator tool is now live for the 2023 Bolt EV.

  1. I’m waiting until they’re free….at this rate it should only be a few more months.

Again, if this is car is so popular that there are waiting lists for it supposedly. Then why are they giving a $5,000 rebate?

On a car they already lose money on?

But then they’ll tell you there isn’t any money for a replacement Camaro or Malibu, or for a Buick sedan.

  2. I see some of the comments above and just laugh. MrR: I know you have read this before. Why is it so difficult for you to understand? There are NO 2022 Bolts to be purchased. NONE. Anywhere. This is nothing more than a marketing ploy by GM to drive people into the dealerships where they will then re-direct the customer (hopefully into another product). This isn’t new and every brand does it.

I just picked up my 2023 Bolt EV. The dealer I use is a large dealer with a lot of sales. They can’t get any Bolts for inventory and every one is pre-sold and every one is a 2023. I asked them if there are any 2022’s available and they laughed. So let’s put this $5,000 rebate into perspective. Look at it like a restaurant advertising a certain dinner for $9.95 and you go in because of it. Once there, you realize that $9.95 dinner is a much smaller version of their regular menu items and you then realize you can get that same dinner with soup, salad and vegetable included for $12.95 instead. Which one would you get? It’s all about marketing. Point is, you would now be sitting in THAT restaurant.

    1. I found 4 within 200 miles from me ready for delivery and thats using the Chevrolet vveb sites half arsed search system.

So none anywhere, except these 4…10 if I expand to 600 miles.

There is also a $5,700 rebate on the 2022 Bolt EUV…..of which there are 18 within 250 miles from me.

      1. Great MrR: Then call all 4 of those dealerships and get back to me with how many actually have them. They won’t have any. The dealer I use had a 2022 EUV that for some odd reason was sitting at the factory for over two months (they were told it was mis-placed and overlooked). When the issue was found, that Bolt was immediately shipped to them where it was sold before hitting their lot.

Point is, IF you call those 4 dealers and IF they actually have the cars, then I guarantee you those dealers have huge markups added and that’s why they would still have it.

        1. Markups are 100% driven by where you live. There are no markups at some dealerships in southern Wisconsin for instance. There are also some dealers that do indeed have 2022 models available and unsold. I’ve spoken to 5 in the last 2 weeks on the phone directly. Just depends on which model, trim and color you’re looking for.
