New for the 2022 model year was the 2022 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing model, introduced as the ultimate high-performance version of the Cadillac CT5-V.
The 2023 Cadillac CT5 arrives with just a handful of changes and updates over the 2022 model, including the Driver Assist Package being fitted as standard and the addition of the Bronze Accent Package. However, the 2023 CT5 loses the Diamond Sky Special Edition Package.
Notable changes for the 2023 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing include receiving a whopping $7,000 price increase , a new standard vehicle wrap as an alternative to the available enclosed shipping carrier option, and a new limited-run 120th Anniversary Edition.
The Cadillac CT5 rides on the GM Alpha 2 platform, which is shared with the Cadillac CT4 lineup. The Luxury, Premium Luxury, and Sport trims are powered by the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY gasoline engine. It is rated at 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque and connects to the GM 10-speed automatic transmission. The twin-turbo 3.0L V6 LGY is an option on the Premium Luxury, rated at 335 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque. The CT5-V is powered by a higher-output version of the LGY engine, rated at 360 horsepower and 405 pound-feet of torque. Both engines also connect to the GM 10-speed automatic transmission. All these variants are available in both rear-wheel drive and optional all-wheel drive configurations.
The Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing runs the supercharged 6.2L V8 LT4, rated at 668 horsepower and 659 pound-feet of torque. The GM six-speed manual transmission is standard, while the 10-speed auto is optional – both exclusively feeding the rear wheels.
While last month Consumer Reports said the 2023 Cadillac CT5 was a compact luxury car to avoid buying, just a week later, Car and Driver named the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing to its 2023 10Best cars list. “The Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing is the greatest sports sedan on sale today,” the editors proclaimed, “if not of all time.”
Looking ahead, the 2024 Cadillac CT5 will debut a mid-cycle refresh. We recently spied a refreshed 2024 Cadillac CT5 prototype testing on public roads.
Production of the 2023 Cadillac CT5 and 2023 Cadillac CT4 began at the GM Lansing Grand River plant in Michigan on July 18th, 2022. The online configurator tool is now live for the 2023 CT5 and for the CT5-V and CT5-V Blackwing.
Production of the refreshed 2024 Cadillac CT5 is currently scheduled for July 2023.

They need a huge upgrade in interior and more power. The ct5-v with just 360hp is especially disappointing.
