The Cadillac Blackwing sedans are two of the most track-worthy vehicles to ever wear the Caddy crest, offering impressive performance without sacrificing any of the usual Cadillac luxury. Now, GM is underlining the four-doors’ special place in the Cadillac stable with a new decklid badge.
The new decklid badge for the Cadillac Blackwing sedans includes the word “Blackwing” written out in bold, black font, backed with silver and terminating in a forward-slanting slash. The new badge will be located underneath the V-Series logo already equipped by Blackwing models, which includes a slanted V and checkered horizontal stripes set in the same colors as the Cadillac crest, including gold, red, silver, blue, and black.
Notably, current Blackwing sedan owners were recently contacted by GM with the following message:
“You earned it! The CT4-V Blackwing / CT5-V Blackwing models will now carry the Blackwing designation beneath the V-Series badge on the rear decklid. We know how special your V-Series Blackwing is, the designation will make it stand out even more!”
Blackwing sedan owners can also contact the Cadillac Customer Care Center (1-800-333-4223) and request their own Blackwing badge by providing their VIN.
Notably, GM Authority addressed this issue back in March of the 2021 calendar year, reporting that the two Cadillac Blackwing sedans would not offer unique badging, despite their unique Blackwing performance capabilities. Now, however, it looks like GM is changing that.
As a reminder, the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing features the supercharged 6.2L V8 LT4 gasoline engine for motivation, with output rated at 668 horsepower and 659 pound-feet of torque, while the Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing features the twin-turbocharged 3.6L V6 LF4 gasoline engine, which is rated at 472 horsepower and 445 pound-feet of torque. Both super sedans ride on the GM Alpha 2 platform, and both are produced at the GM Lansing Grand River plant in Michigan.

I received 1 for my 2022 BLACKWING early last week .
Got my Blackwing in November after a long wait 21 months. It’s a sleeper only the sound and velocity give it away on the street. The new badge is awesome I’m torn if it should mount it or not 🧐
