As GM Authority exclusively covered earlier, the Cadillac Lyriq Tech trim level is a fresh addition for the 2024 model year, sliding in under the Luxury and Sport trims as the new base-model offering in the Cadillac Lyriq lineup.
Meanwhile, customers will have multiple equipment levels to choose from with regard to the Luxury and Sport trims (1 through 3), as well as multiple drivetrain configurations (either rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive). The 2024 Cadillac Lyriq Tech is tagged with equipment group 1SA, while the Cadillac Lyriq Luxury will offer the 1SC, 1SD, and 1SE equipment groups. The 2024 Cadillac Lyriq Sport will offer the 1SF, 1SJ, and 1SK equipment groups. Notably, the 2024 Cadillac Lyriq Tech will offer the Driver Assist package, which adds in a variety of content included as standard by the Luxury and Sport trims, such as Adaptive Cruise Control, Rear Pedestrian Alert, Enhanced Automatic Parking Assist, and more.
Last month, GM Authority reported that the 2024 Cadillac Lyriq will start at just under $60,000. Critically, that starting price is a decrease of $1,000 and $3,000 compared to 2023 Cadillac Lyriq models (rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive, respectively).

Super Cruise was included, as was destination charge, on May 18 orders. Both are now extra, adding thousands to the price of the May 18 offer.
People or ordered last May are not getting a fair deal when compared to the prices now.
Wonder which category the debut editions falls into? Since the debut edition was ordered WAY back on September 2021, before any other categories were developed. It’s been a very long wait and I hope the customer that secured a debut edition get a fair deal on the options.
I believe it fits around the Lux2 with a few different features
All these options are a joke.. They havent even delivered base models promised last year. I think Im pulling the plug on mine now that the 7500 dried up too. Ok seriously doubt they will deliver all the 23 and 24 cars they took orders for
GM just started shipping near 700 Lyirqs this past week to dealerships. The Quality hold has been lifted.
It appears my pre-order won’t arrive in 2023. Now they’ve added numerous trim levels to make things even more confusing. This will turn out to be a two year process to buy a vehicle. I think I’m moving on to another choice. There are a lot of solid EV options.
As far as a JOKE, I agree,,, the only 2023’s available are BLACK Metalic – a $750 plus tax ($816), Told – even though I ordered a blue one 5/19/22, that I should have a BLACK Metalic one by mid MAY, 2023. So that means DEBUT guys got some colors (black, white, silver – plus one or two blue metalics for test drives).
As far as I know, the difference between 2023 DEBUT and the $3,000 more expensive 2023 LUXURY, is that of seat panel lighting, and ‘gesture’ tail gate operation. But the TECH trim has all kinds of stuff removed.
I registered to order Cadillac Lyriq with $100 last year but now I change my mind to order Tesla Model Y because it is cheap now and I am qualified for $7500 incentive.
Yeah, when the two were about the same price, the Lyriq was the better choice. But with the Y now costing a lot less and qualifying for the tax credit, the Lyriq is going to have a tough time of it. GM needs to drop those prices by about $10k.
Make sure you get a kidney belt, the Model Y rides like a Tacoma or Gladiator.
I mean yeah, it’s definitely got like a stiffer “sport” suspension. But with the extra $20k you will save, you have plenty to spend on some aftermarket suspension.
The big question is: which trim level will have Super Cruise as a selectable option? That is what I want to know.
Check the Cadillac forums…
It’s standard equipment on the Lux (1SD, 1SE) and Sport (1SJ, 1SK) Trims.
Not available on the base trims.
Wow….That is a Dizzying amount of Trims.
How about GM just concentrates on building like two or three trims but ramps us Production Hard Core.
What a Joke GM’s BEV’s efforts have been thus far. They basically gave up their early head start to BEV’s as a Legacy Automaker.
I was so hopeful that GM moved quickly two years ago and now it is being proven they are Clueless on Building BEV’s.
I hope I am wrong but the USA, Germany, and Japan will most likely need to save these Legacy Automakers yet once again….the question will be all of them or just a handful.
No wonder Tesla is going to destroy basically most Legacy Auto. Too slow to react!!!
I am so disheartened as a GM Shareholder but more importantly as a GM Fan.
There are only three Trims, but the Lux and Sport have 3 sub trims (Equipment levels)
It isn’t that hard to figure out.
The Sport trim is just an appearance package on top of the Lux trim so they are essentially identical.
Meh:
They could simplify things if they only had Window Stickers for the TRIMS.
I still am a bit confused as to what exactly is being left out of the TECH trim… It only has ‘Standard 5G’ which I will have to find a way to shut down. But all kinds of lighting removed, no choreographed lighting, no 80 amp charger standard on ANY trim, and who knows if they are still going to give free fast charging cards or how much they will give for a 220 32 amp charging receptacle installation.
Basically for the 2024 TECH anything nice is optional, – except MORE OPTIONAL stuff is available (still NOT INCLUDED) for the 2024 LUXURY and 2024 SPORT.
I felt the same way when pricing a base model CT4 or CT5, lol. Everything was an option, including blind spot monitoring. I guess that’s how Cadillac makes their money.
@meh
Exactly. That is way too many.
Especially when you make like 20 vehicles each Quarter Lol
No 3 Trims is perfect, it isn’t complicated at all.
@meh
It is three trims but with each trim having multiple build outs.
Tesla makes one vehicle per Model that is exactly the same inside and out with Different Software for speed, different wheel options, one or Dual Motors, and colors.
How is what GM doing even remotely close?
There is a reason why GM and Toyota were doing like 150K – 200K vehicles out of the Fremont pant and Tesla is currently Cranking out 500K and might get up to 750K per year by end of 2023
And that Plant is Ancient.
Just imagine what Berlin and Austin will be doing.
Again GM needs to start cranking vehicles out or it will not survive the Shift even though they started early as far as a Legacy Automaker goes.
I think you’re on to something. It’s the difference between selling a traditional car (GM’s model) and a computer (Tesla’s model). If I understand the dream of EVs, they will become super computers on wheels rather than high-tech cars. For that reason alone, the tech companies will present the biggest challenges to existing automakers, such as GM.
Meh:
Thanks for providing the features list… Now much clearer on what the 2023 provided and new or deleted for 2024.
Others might find charge rates confusing….
Substitute 8,12 for 15.
48 for 60,
And 80 for 100.
Momolos, what is a “Quarter Lol”?
@GM fan
HaHa
It do not take a rocket scientist to come up with a plan to get the Lyriq price lower so it can meet the federal guideline for the rebate. Exclude some items but have the auto equip so dealer can rapidly install them. set up a unique plan with the dealers where dealers can install items and you pay the dealer for item after the sale, and the price can still go through GM Financial. This way the auto is sold to customer for a lower price and the customer still get everything they want for the same price as if GM install straight from factory. This is called improvising. As a trademan, I had to improvise all the time. More than one way to skin a cat.
I liked it better when it was $62,000 for FWD and $64,000 for AWD. The trims presented in list format don’t really specify what they are. E.g., the Tech Trim regrettably has nothing to do with technology. It doesn’t offer better tech features. It’s just the budget model.
Still does not say what list of freebees provided.
Bet if they removed the 220 cord and $1500 electrician installation they could get the $57,195 down to $55,000 and make the TECH version get a $7,500 fed tax credit.
For fed tax credit, it is $55k for sedans and $80k for SUVs. And Lyriq falls into SUV category.
No. It’s not an SUV per the definitions used.
Jeff I thought so too until us Treasury said Lyriq is obviously not a truck based suv. Therefore the EASY way I just listed to make the MSRP $55,000 should be done by gm immediately.
GM should not be worried about getting these down to $55,000 to capture the federal tax credit at all. In fact, the new base Tech trim should not even exist either –it’s as dumb as the time they put a four-cylinder in the CT6. Cadillac is supposed to be an aspirational manufacturer of luxury goods for those of means. If affording a Lyriq depends on a $7500 credit, then you shouldn’t be in the target demographic for this vehicle. GM will have the Equinox EV and Blazer EV that go on sale later this year, and will be priced to capture the credit.
Is that spread sheet a list of trims or the quarterly production?
It’s amazing, people wanted different trim levels to pick from. Now they cry that it’s to confusing 😕..lol
Not so much Tom…
I feel it is dirty pool to have a HARD MANUFACTURE ORDER, with an agreed price, for a Blue Lyriq, and then to arrive a YEAR LATE, only a black one which is the only thing they’ve decided to make after having 3 1/2 colors for the DEBUT and then claiming they had 4 for the LUXURY (anything but the first 30 vehicles), and then both statements were a lie since they’re only going to make BLACK ones which I still have to pay an additional $816 for.
I get it! Everyone wants a fully loaded-Cadillac for the price of a Bolt. Well, folks, that isn’t going to happen, so if your budget is what a Bolt sells for, go buy a Bolt, or maybe a Blazer. They are both nice EVs. Cancel your Lyriq reservation, and get out of the way!
It’s not a ‘reservation’.. it’s a hard build order for an EXACTLY specified vehicle for an agreed upon price. GM broke that agreement.
I want the LYRIQ since it goes about 65 miles further than the Bolt, and is a Midsize not a subcompact. I traded in my bolt for a bolt euv to get something slightly bigger. Which I am keeping when I finally get my LYRIQ.
Also Chief, Blazer EVs don’t exist, and if my experience is any indication they won’t for sometime and I will have been short one vehicle for more than a year by the time it finally arrives.
What the Lyriq color it is on this article? It looks wonderful.
$4100 to move up from the Tech model and all you really get basically is the fancy light show inside and out, rainsense wipers and heated steering wheel and heated seats. Heated seats and steering should be standard on all models.
Les prix que vous avez indique sont ils en argent americain svp
Sounds like the old bait and switch to me! I’ve had an order in since Spring 22’. My order was for a RWD 23’ model, which now turned into a 24’ model because of the GM delays. I texted my dealership to upgrade from a RWD to a AWD. They called me to say GM just announced price increases of $10,000, putting the cost at $73,000. GM has now put several trim packages on a car they are still having problems getting out to customers. Going to re-think this one, something look very fishy.
Sorry GM you may have just lost another potential customer!
