The 2023 GMC Yukon is the third model year for the current fifth-generation SUV, offering up a few important updates and changes over the preceding 2022 model year. Now, the 2023 GMC Yukon is once again available with the Brembo performance brake kit.
The kit in question is the Front 6-Piston Brembo Brake Upgrade with Color Matched Rear Calipers, tagged with RPO code 5JL. This kit was also available for previous model years of the GMC Yukon, but disappeared for the beginning of the SUV’s 2023 model year. Now, however, the kit is once again available to order for the 2023 GMC Yukon and 2023 GMC Yukon XL.
The Front 6-Piston Brembo Brake Upgrade with Color Matched Rear Calipers kit is offered as an LPO-level option, which means it’s installed by the dealer, as opposed to at the factory when the vehicle is initially produced. The kit includes the following content:
- Front six-piston Brembo brake calipers
- Red calipers on front and rear
- Front 16.1-inch by 1.3-inch Duralife rotors
- GMC logo on front calipers
The Brembo brake upgrade is priced at $3,495, and is available in conjunction with all trim levels and configurations of the 2023 GMC Yukon. That said, customers must select 20-inch or 22-inch wheels in order to fit the larger brakes to the base-level 2023 GMC Yukon SLE.
Notably, the 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 is also once again available with the Brembo performance brake kit, as GM Authority covered previously.
As a reminder, the 2023 GMC Yukon is offered with three powertrain options, including the naturally aspirated 5.3L V8 L84 gasoline engine, rated at 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque, the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine, rated at 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, and finally, the 3.0L I6 LM2 turbodiesel Duramax engine, rated at 277 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque.
Under the skin, the GMC Yukon full-size SUV rides on the GM T1 platform. Production takes place at the GM Arlington plant in Texas.
