2023 GMC Canyon AT4 Gets Optional Off-Road Lift Package

An Off Road Lift Package (RPO code LPE) is being added as an option for the AT4 trim of the 2023 GMC Canyon, GM Authority has learned. This Lift Package is a dealer-installed LPO option and is intended to increase the truck’s suspension lift.

Standard suspension on the 2023 GMC Canyon AT4 has a two-inch lift, which is also standard on the Elevation and Denali trims. The Off Road Lift Package, meanwhile, boosts the AT4’s lift to be equal with the three-inch lift featured on the Canyon AT4X.

The package, which requires dealer installation, is priced at $1,795, though it is currently unavailable to order. It is offered for the AT4 trim only and bundles the following two features (with RPO codes in parentheses):

  • Suspension Lift Kit, LPO (SQI)
  • Off-Road Assist Steps, LPO (VZT)

It’s worth noting that while the Suspension Lift Kit furnishes the AT4 with the three-inch lift from the Canyon AT4X, the package does not include the latter truck’s advanced MultiMatic DSSV dampers.

GM revealed the third generation of the GMC Canyon for the 2023 model year, ushering in updates to the truck’s exterior, interior, powertrain, and technology.

GM Authority brought you the very first real-world photos of the 2023 GMC Canyon AT4 last August, delivering a better look at key features such as the faux front skid plate, new two-tiered headlight treatment, red tow hooks, and a red-accented AT4 badge in the grille. The photos also showcased the CornerStep rear bumper for improved access to the bed.

The interior, meanwhile, features two-tone leather upholstery with stitched AT4 branding, faux carbon fiber trim, hard AT4 dashboard badging, and an 11.3-inch infotainment display.

The 2023 GMC Canyon AT4 fits in between the Elevation trim, which serves as the base trim level for the 2023 model year, and the more rugged AT4X trim. The AT4’s standard suspension delivers 9.6 inches of ground clearance, enabling the improved approach, departure, and breakover angles delivered by the overhauled 2023 model.

All trim levels of the 2023 GMC Canyon are powered by the turbocharged 2.7L L3B engine in High Output tune rated at 310 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque. GM’s eight-speed 8L80 Hydra-Matic automatic transmission is the only gearbox available; it has been updated for the 2023 model year. 4WD is standard for the AT4.

The official 2023 GMC Canyon configurator has been live on the GMC website since GM unveiled the truck last August. Production of the 2023 Canyon, including the AT4, is scheduled to start on January 25th, 2023 at the GM Wentzville plant in Missouri.

Love it! Nothing says brilliant like offering a package, then saying it’s not available. If it’s not available, then don’t say you can offer it.

    1. Mary’s in charge. Probably it won’t be offered unless you opt for the Elevation woke package .

  2. This truck will be over 50k with all the added options making it overpriced and a bad financial decision for consumers.

  3. How long does it take to get a canyon if ordered by January 26,2023

    1. So, a month ago I went to my dealer and placed my official order for an AT4.. Note I said “with my dealer.” The dealer has to wait for GM to open an allocation to them to actually place my order with GM and that’s IF they get an allocation for a 4 wheel drive and not just a 2 wheel drive. I was hoping to get it before the end of summer. I’m starting to doubt that.

  5. Like the new looks. SHARP!! Last model years were ugly. Now considering the $50,000! A new full size optioned truck is heading for $80,000, Just to put things in perspective. But yes that’s a lot for a midsized truck. Trying to put my head around it.. But I just did pay close to that that for a new Wrangler!! I can afford it, but do i want to pay for it???? May take a while, a long while!!! Definitely not paying for a full size one. That’s 3 times the price of my first home!!! And yes I’m a old dude—76.
But still into Vettes, Camaro’s & Harleys
    Wranglers & Cadillacs(XT4)!!!!!

  6. I bought a 23 canyon AT4. I’m concerned that the AT4 has a 2 inch lift kit, compared to my 2021 ZR2…which is a 3 inch lift kit.
This 3 inch lift kit option ( specific to AT4 ) is listed as LPO(SQI) ….but NOT available- according to my dealer.
So…who can help confirm this ?? Is it available or not ????
